I was able to watch the game on my computer Saturday night and the sides looked pretty full, but The end zone sitting looked sad. I'm guessing that people are saving all of their energy for the Tech game. We'll find out what kind of team we really have next week up in Stillwater.

    Ok St 31 UH 21

Yeah, I watched the game on channelsurfing.net.

The quality isn't the best, but it got the job done.

Yes, the Coogs finally appear to be on their way. I would expect Sumlin to be around for a good while. Houston is a seat of power and now that we have the folks running the show on the same page, it's just a matter of time.

You look at the recruiting in the lines, not just at the skill positions and the writing is on the wall.

We'll dominate the conference and outgrow Robertston.

I know some would say that...oh we're a commuter school, but the days of glory where we ruled the SWC are not that farfetched to imagine in about 5 years or so...perhaps an invite into the SEC.

.......and yes Sims is a stud!

I would not be shocked if Sumlin became Tech or A&M's first black coach in 3-4 years.

    Ok, maybe I would.

But still. I can see it.

So what school is being kicked out of the SEC? Or will they be adding a 13th/14th team?

UH and Rice skip hand in hand together merrily through the heavenly gates of the SEC into a field of puppies and rainbows.

UH would never ever get an invite into the SEC. The Mountain West is more realistic, but I think we need to finish a season ranked in the top 25 before we start talking about jumping conferences. Beating OkSt and/or Texas Tech would be a great start.

Yeah, the student section was amazingly packed. Once the rain (a little drizzle) started towards the end of the 3rd quarter people started leaving.

I think people started leaving moreso because we were up by more than thirty points than the rain. It started to sprinkle, but then it stopped and people were still leaving.

True, I actually left at the end of the 3rd when it had stopped sprinkling.

A return to the glory years would be so sweet. Some of the most exciting football I have ever seen. And it was in the Astrodome, in it's heyday.

UH will never go to the SEC. I don't even know why that though is being casually discussed.

That said, I think the Coogs will surely beat Tech at Robertson. Potts did not look that great yesterday against New Mexico. Let's just assume they lose in Stillwater. If they do not get blown out by the Cowboys, a 2-1 record with a close loss to a top 5-10 team and a win over Tech looks good. And they could/should win out after that. I think UH is in store for a good season.

Also, I don't think it is guaranteed that Sumlin immediately leaves if UH has success. I would not be suprised, but UH has some history, is in a recruiting hotbed, and is in one of the better non-BCS conferences. If he really enjoys it here, and the Coogs show him the money, I would say there is a good chance he stays.

I thought one of the reasons they hired Sumlin was because they wanted a little longevity at the coaching position. I guess time will tell.

And would it kill FSN to actually start broadcasting UH games, now that they're playing well and all. I know an Astros game was on the other day, but in past seasons FSN would show some nobody school a thousand miles away instead of schools in this region. Doesn't make sense.

Surely they could reach some broadcasting agreement with the school. And considering, again, that the program is looking good these days, the games are bound to bring in better ratings than whatever the hell is on at that time.

Looking forward to the rest of the season. Can't say the rest of CUSA West has blown me away, so we've got a nice shot of hosting the championship game. We should be doing that every year.

    They did.

    Same reason they hired Briles.

He was a no-namer high school coach with only 2 years as an assistant at Tech.... and yet he bolted for Baylor after 4.5 years.

Sumlin has a much more stacked resume than Briles ever did and is already proving to be a better coach.

If Sumlin gives us multiple CUSA titles or 10 win seasons, expect him to bolt shortly thereafter.... but my guess is Sumlin won't settle for Baylor *snicker*
