outlaw... weird I thought the exact same thing when I saw this trade. ------------------ I've posted so much that what I say must be true. The latest on Maurice Taylor
Outlaw and Achebe, I can't say that I thought of it, but if Portland could pull that off, they should not hesitate. ------------------
"Now they have gotten rid of their young players for some older vets. Kemp and Davis together doesn't equal a B.Grant. Kemp in his younger and slimmer days...yes, but now...no. After this team falls short the next two years (that is my prediction), they will have a hell of a time rebuilding. " -djones First of all, I think Kemp will be a better player then Brian Grant now that he's motivated. Davis and Grant are about even. There is no way Grant is better then both combined. I think Kemp will be motivated to get in shape now that he's on a contender and is playing for the GM who drafted him. As for Davis trade, Oneal had 4 years to prove he would be a good NBA player.. and he didn't. Davis is a whole lot better then Oneal and Oneal will never be as good as Davis. As for the lakers, they need to make a move NOW. If they dont get a good PF for rice, then they can kiss a championship goodbye. Kemp can handle Shaq better then Horry can handle Sheed. All i know is this is gonna be an interstin year in the West. We're all forgeting the Spurs who signed Derek Anderson, the Jassholes who will always stir up trouble, the Mavs who now have a starting lineup of Nash,Finley, Dirk,Laettner,Bradley, the Suns, and the Sonics who might still get Ewing. ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
We can score against anybody in the league, but will we be able to defend and rebound adequatley enough to make us stick in the playoffs? That's my central concern for our post season hopes this year. As I see it right now, and I apologize if I sound too harsh, getting enough people minutes isn't a big deal come playoff time (unless you're Glen "Waahhh" Rice). If we face the Blazers, we have to step on the gas while they're in cruise. BTW, I went silent this summer and let the clutch city hoops game die after billing it as a coming attraction. So sorry to all who were at a loss because of me. Work, school, and personal issues got too overwhelming. Still, I didn't show the common courtesy to call it off properly. So I apologize. With that said, we need defense and boards, unless we plan on playing defense by scoring a ton of points. P1st,S2nd [This message has been edited by Pass 1st, shoot 2nd (edited September 01, 2000).]
Portland certainly has a lot of talent now...but aren;t they becoming the oldest team in the world? Our friend pippen is no spring chicken..neither is kemp, Sabas...I have no idea about davis...how old is he? I don't know how much success the Rockets will have against them this year, but Houston will be more exciting to watch I think ------------------
P1S2, Hey man...great to see you on the board again. Do you want to go to a game this year? You know I'm better at watching games now than playing anyhow...like rudy...lol kapayaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited September 03, 2000).]
Heypartner, That'd be great (to go see a game). I haven't ever been to a Rockets game. Watching them all of the time is one thing, but I've never seen one in person. Name the time, make sure it's a Houston game on a weekend or a holiday, and we'll go. I'm in my last year of law school at St. Mary's in San Antonio, so I can't make weekday games. Give me an e-mail and we'll discuss it more in detail. P1st,S2nd ------------------ Don't anybody ever suggest again that we sign Tracy Murray to a deal.
