He deserves one. I wouldn't mind going as high as 12m per for him.

Doesn't this make it pretty clear the guy is stepping it up in the playoffs to get more money?
I love Artest, but he didn't play as well as now in the regular season and in the first playoff games...
And he is definitely showcasing himself through this article..

So you want him to say "yeah, everyone in that 2010 class is miles ahead of me. I deserve no more than 80k"?

What's wrong with a player at his contract year trying to prove himself that he is worth something?

I didn't say it was wrong, I said UH OH for the Rockets because he is going to want alot of money since many teams will be interested in him!

But ok, I won't post any REAL info on this bbs anymore because all people are interested in is stupid TMAC threads or DONT GIVE HIM THE BALL threads and knee jerk threads.
I guess people don't like real facts anymore and rather use the bbs to get there anger out rather than to learn something...

I figured something like a fat contract would entice Ron to play for us this year.

He likes playing for RA, who kept him relatively under control. He should have seen that the Rox acquiring a third scoring option would make them a contender and even favorite to come out of the West and optimistically a championship. All these things come together to make playing for the Rockets the path of least resistance to him looking as good (in demeanor and ability) as he possibly could. Thus allowing the stackage of paper.

Dunno about 12m, but hes proving himself to the Rockets and clutchfans. He's found his role here, and he's a safer bet than waiting for tmacs microfracture rehab, which could end a whole lot later into 09-10 than I'd like to think about.
