I was reading a lot of the season previews yesterday, and what was interesting was that almost all of them thought we were going to be much better under briles. Most of them predicted us to be 5-7 or 6-6, but also predicted that we would be on the rise big time. The only strange part was that Kolb wasn't in any of the previews. It must have been a last minute decision to start Kolb at the QB spot this year. And that has really worked out. The kid has been phenomenal. I think he only had a handful on interceptions. I'm trying to get caught up on the team since I wasn't paying much attention until now. But as with me, recruits are going to start looking our way.
Congrats to UH i'm really happy the Coogs are back on track. Now why on the earth would TCU decline to go to the Aloha bowl, the players must be really ticked off.
They didn't decline the invite. They were holding out for either Hawaii, or at the very least Ft. Worth. They snubbed the GMAC bowl, very rudely as I understand it, and then used the finals excuse in the hopes that they could instead get an invitation to the Hawaii bowl for a nice reward, national exposure, and a probable 12th win. Their backup plan was the Ft. Worth Bowl, as it would cost them zip for travel, allow all of their fans, band, and cheerleaders to participate and also get them their 12th win. The GMAC officials then called the Hawaii officials to tell them what TCU was up to, and how TCU was being a little b*stard and putting itself ahead of the good of the conference. The Hawaii worked out a deal with the GMAC, who agreed to take Louisville in order that Houston could go to the Hawaii bowl, which would stick TCU at home in Ft. Worthless for their bowl game. If I were a player at TCU, I would transfer.. their AD has dug their school into a very deep hole, and the media and public opinion has rightfully buried them..
