Actually they have mentioned Kerry's stance. His website also talks extensively about his plans, unlike Bush's website which talked extensively about Kerry being a flip flopper and didn't prominantly feature any of Bush's own policy. The website difference was such a shocker to me. I think someone pointed out that of the two websites there were 4 images of Kerry and not one of Bush.
If even close to a majority of the American people vote for George Bush it's because they have been manipulated by a propaganda campaign orchestrated by the people with the power and the money who want to maintain their power and money. They have gotten the common man to vote against his own economic interest by sensationalizing the 'hot button' emotional issues that really have little bearing on their every day life and associating their candidates with the 'common' knee-jerk reaction. They talk about flag-burning, homosexual marrigeand stem cell research while they are running up huge deficits and giving themselves tax breaks, reducing federal oversight on business and allowing runaway consumption of irreplaceable resources. If they did this on the street they would be arrested for pick-pocketing. Do you think the executive making $30 million dollars a year is worried about his health insurance? No, he wants to reduce the cost of his 5,000 employess health insurance so he can get a bigger stock option check. Is it in the interest of Exxon and Halliburton if automobiles get 50 miles a gallon? They could if it were federally mandated or even promoted by something like tax rebates for effiicient autos. Who will benefit from laws reducing overtime pay while reducing the capital gains tax? (well, me; but I'm not asking for it) But who would really be affected if gays could marry? No one but gays...they would get the same rights as hetro-marrieds. Who would be affected by allowing flag burning? No one really. Do you say a prayer with your children at the breakfast table? Then they probably don't need one at school and if you don't then why are you asking for school prayer? Don't be dupe! Politics is about promoting your own self interest. If you aren't a rich white guy why would you let them trick you into being their fool? And if you want to promote your political views, and you don't own the Fox Network or TimeWarner how else can you do it but by calling enough attention to yourself that people have to notice. You can't really get a good debate on a placard so it looks a little silly, but it is all 'the people' have.
