    I think the reality is that we are not alone. I do think they are just monitoring us though and have zero interest of actually communicating with us. They are probably just trying to make sure we don’t **** up the planet too bad.

    You're assigning human reasoning to an alien species. This is likely based on science fiction stories, movies, TV, etc.

    If we're assigning human reasoning:
    • They care about the planet because they want to be friends
    • They care about the planet because they want to be trading partners
    • They care about the planet because they want to conquer us and take our resources
    • They care about watching us because we're a potential threat
    Who knows why? More than likely it's scientific study and we're bugs.
