Why not? I would think there would be a mad rush to buy building supplies and space guns. And large stores of water, since aliens can't stand to be around water.
Where are the articles indicating some sort of imminent disclosure? Moreso due to the religious implications than the financial ones, no political body of any country would ever disclose anything.
hmmm...i disagree. the Catholic Church seems to be literally preparing for alien discovery. they host conferences now about how the faith is completely unaffected by it...and make proclamations regarding the same. i'm not sure that any faith on earth gets displaced by the existence of alien life somewhere else. but there's no doubt it would freak people out...and i'm guessing that fear might negatively affect investment.
really? you don't think if people felt fear...or new uncertainty....that it would have an effect on their willingness to invest?? it wouldn't shake confidence at all?
