Rampage congratulated Forrest and gave him his credit. He said Forrest really hurt his knee but it didn't affect him too much until later on in the fourth. He also said he would never take 9 months off again.

Forrest was pretty excited. He said every one of Rampage's hits really hurt and he's not looking forward to fighting him again.

Thanks! Hopefully there will be a rematch soon. Seems Rampage didn't take Forrest seriously this time around.

Props to Forrest. Fan favorite and a great guy. Really worked his way to the top from the Ultimate Fighter show. I'm a HUGE Rampage fan, but in a way I'm kinda happy for the kid.

rampage was hilarious still...hes like "sometimes you get your ass whooped..sometimes you dont, and that theres a 50/50 chance he wont knock you out" or something along those lines..always funny to listen to

Forrest is without a doubt my favorite UFC fighter, but I really didn't think he wont that fight. He clearly won the 2nd round, and I could see the judges scoring that one 10-8...but it looked like Rampage won the others. Round 5 was the only other one that I thought Forrest could have arguably won. Well whatever, I'm glad he got the win...I'm just not sure it was deserved.

He also had 3... He did have a triangle locked in, although Rampage got out. Forrest just controlled the entire fight. Rampage looked flat.

I am glad to see that others seem to think Forrest won the fight. I was at a bar watching it so I wasn't able to be as attentive to the fight as I wanted, so it's possible I just didn't get a true feel for how the fight went. Of course the other bar patrons went crazy every time Rampage would land one of those power shots, and especially on the slam...so it could be that skewed my view on how the fight went.

forrest won because he was more aggressive...rampage landed a lot of shots..but none of em really injured forrest and he never took em to the ground. where as forrest noticeably hurt rampages leg...controlled him on the ground the entire 2nd rd...landed great side kicks and some good counter punches.

Oh and there was some jackass fat white dude wearing a Rampage style chain where I was watching it. He was actually howling throughout the fight. He looked ready to cry when the decision was announced.

True. Rampage looked very one-dimensional to me. I do think he will get the title back though, his knock-out power is unmatched.

yea...some of those shots landed on forrest..but forrest can take a ton of punches..pretty sure 3-4 of those punches from rampage would have knocked anyone else out.

I thought Rampage won the fight, and two people I watched with thought Forrest won. I gave Rampage rounds 1,3, and 4.

I guess the judges gave Forrest a 10-8 round 2 even though he didn't do any significant damage when he had him on the ground.

It was fun to watch, I'm sure they will do it again. I was surprised Dana didn't announce a rematch right away. I wonder if he's planning for Forrest to fight the winner of Rashad/Lidell first and then let Rampage fight the winner of that fight later on.

That could setup Lidell vs Rampage 2, or Forrest vs Rampage 2, or Rashad vs Rampage if he can pull the upset over Chuck.

First off, awesome fight. I don't think Forrest won though. I give him Round 2 obviously and Round 5, but Rampage took the other three. That slam was awesome and Rampage landed some good hits that rocked Forrest.

It was a very close fight, but I don't feel the right guy won. I do like Forrest, but hate that he got the belt this way. Even as close as it was, the sway should go to the champ. Either way congrats to Forrest and I'm looking forward to a better showing from Rampage in the inevitable rematch.

This was a boring fight. To beat the champ you gotta beat him convincingly and take the belt from him. The belt was handed to Forrest and he knows that too. Rampage vs Griffin II.... someone's gonna get knocked out.....

you guys are crazy...heck, i like both..i wasnt really pulling for either..but rampage has to do more than what he did. forrest visibly injured rampages leg..controlled him on the ground for an entire round...took some punches..but didnt seem to phase him. as a champ rampage should have done more...ie: shoot for a take down...get some body kicks..the slam he had, wasnt a typical slam for him. it seems like you guys are saying well forrest didnt knock him out or make him submit, thus rampage should retain the belt.

i felt forrest was winning most the match...i was waiting for rampage do try something to get at least some takedowns...but it never came. i thought forrest should have won the belt

    but yea...rampage/griffin 2..good stuff

Aside from the leg kick, Forrest didn't do that much either. Even when he was mounted, it looked like Rampage was just buying his leg time. Rampage got some solid hits on him and the mediocre slam was still a slam. I just don't think Forrest should have won the belt this way. Look forward to the rematch.

Rampage got ripped, should've been a draw if anything. Forrest aside from the leg kick that briefly hobbled Jackson just didn't do much to win the fight. In my book you never let a title change hands in a fight as uneventful as this one was.

Whatever, Forrest is the Golden Boy who had an absolute war with Stephan Bonar, who other than getting popped for roids hasn't done much since, on national cable TV and instantly vaulted himself into America's hearts and minds so I guess he deserved to win the fight. I mean I like him he just didn't beat the man with the belt and until he did I don't think he deserved to win.

UFC dictates who fights who anyway which I think is GREAT so they could've done a rematch anyway... smells fishy, a little anyway. If I was Rampage I would be secretly pissed and look to hurt FG in the next fight.
