Hate Cain. Born and raised in America; lived here his whole life; goes to an American university (ASU); comes out waving a Mexican flag . How about you show a little love for America and not the country your parents didn't want to raise you in? His parents came here illegally and he and his two siblings were all given educations yet all I ever hear from this guy is love for Mexico.
this is business. more ppv subscribers mean more money. i wont be surprised if dana white asked him to wear that.
asked him to tattoo 'brown pride' on his chest to? I am not asking him to hate Mexico, just throw some love to the country that has done so much for him as well, or say nothing about either. And don't tell me giving props to the USA is bad for business. That's crazy.
exactly, and that whole "brown pride" stick, who's idea was it to get that. It makes the UFC look bad, and there is a huge double standard there.

Seriously dude? So because he shows more love to his fatherland/motherland than to where he was born and grew up that's a reason to hate him? As long as he doesn't say crap about the USA then why is there a problem? I'm an immigrant, I grew up in 3 countries but lived most of my life in the USA if counting, yet the USA comes 3rd in the pecking order of countries I would fight for. Doesn't mean there's no love for the country. I understand the part about his parents coming here illegally and how his life has prospered but because he crows about his love for Mexico in public, that doesn't mean he doesn't express his appreciation for los Estados Unidos in private. Just saying, no need to hate bro. Reeelax
I was about to say c'mon son because I thought you were referring to a double standard re.white people but then I realized what you meant. Yeah I def see how that can suck for a white person. What white fighter can get White pride tattoed on them and not catch a lot of flack for that? Yeah def not great for my white brothers.
Also Herb shouldve called the fight in the 3rd. I know JDS threw some punches in the fourth and fifth but he was DONE Son! Shame on Cain for still going for takedowns in the last two rounds when he could've just stood JDS up and used him as a punching bag. Fight should've been called before the 5th. JDS is a warrior no doubt but that was a needless beatdown in the last 2 and a half rounds.
For crying out loud...he let them fight. How many times have we complained that refs call the fights too soon? On a side note, damn there were a lot of fine ladies in the house tonight.
You can't just enjoy a fight? Do you hate "Irish" Mickey Ward? Do you hate Lennox Lewis, who has claimed THREE countries? Do you hate all of the Puerto Rican boxers that come in with their flags as well? Hey, how about Rocky, the Italion Stallion? He's paying the USA more in taxes in one year than you are in your lifetime. Get over it. Maybe the hate has more to do with what he did to Brock Lesnar. Hmmm.
Man. Last two fights were eh. Thought JDS was trying to rope a dope him. He was just getting his ass kicked.
I said 'the whole card has been great'. Why would I care if Lewis has claimed 3 countries? Puerto Ricans are from Puerto Rico. Rocky wore USA trunks multiple times. Not sure you understood what I wrote at all. the USA is his motherland. He's lived here his whole life. It means he chooses to express love for Mexico over the USA in public. the children of illegal citizens getting educations and growing up to become successful is a story that would make almost all Americans proud of their country. Why is he not? The story of a man fleeing Mexico to raise a family as an illegal in another country is a story that should make most Mexicans feel ashamed of their country. Why is he not?
You do know that because he has lived in the USA his whole life(or if we choose to go w/the fact that he was born in the States) that doesn't make it his motherland, right? http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/motherland Either way, I get your point as to why it would make Americans following the UFC proud if he were too show pride in the country he was born in and the country he got an education and gets paid in as well as why Mexicans/Mexico should be ashamed. Regardless, it's not worth getting worked up about. It shouldn't be that big a deal bro. Love not hate.
Well supposedly you were upset because he didn't show the USA no love. He shows the USA love when he writes checks to the IRS. Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens, yet of all the fights I've seen Puerto Ricans in, if they are sporting a flag, it's not the U.S. flag. No problem there huh? Irish Mickey Ward, and many other Irish or Italian boxers who probably have never been to those countries showing the USA no love but boasting about their Italian and Irish heritage is ok? Why is he not? Who cares? Oh just you. Like I said, I've seen many boxers do exactly what Cain is doing, and you are the first person I've encountered to actually get on a message board and take the time to write about it.
For sure fans complain about refs calling fights too soon. Just as some refs are too quick to call a fight over, some are also to lax in calling a fight and are too quick to let it keep going. There's a middle ground that can be found. I don't think this was a good instance of a "let them keep fighting" moment. I may be wrong but I think I read that Dana shares the same view as I do on this one.
