Feels like Anderson lost that title on purpose. I know he didn't, but with his post-match comments, it feels like he didn't care at all if he won or lost. I want to see a rematch though.
Wish Silva could've taken it seriously cause Weidman is one of the few fighters that actually pose a chance against him.
Anderson said things that didn't make sense in his post fight interview. His still improving English + the effects of the knockout probably affected his thoughts in that interview. I'd wait to hear what he says in subsequent interviews. How the F are you going to keep fighting and not be in position to fight for the belt. Especially a rematch. You know Dana ain't letting this go w/out a rematch(If Silva is honoring the rest of his fight contract).
Idiocy + disrespect. Just so annoying. Weidman deserved it and as much as I love Spider, he also deserved to lose for his idiotic behavior. (F that strategery mess). Just wished Silva showed more respect in the fight. Don't go out acting like a chump and then come back in the post fight interview trying to act right. No need for that nonsense from the start.
Seriously. Beating Weidman, or losing because he did his best, would have allowed Silva to retire gracefully / move onto other projects. Despite all that "US has changed my family" fluff he fed to the crowd, he can't be happy that he lost the title because he messed around. Random tangent: this is comparable to WWE's Undertaker streak. If 'Taker clowned around and lost against CM Punk, bet he wouldn't be happy.
Man i hate to scream conspiracy, but this fight seemed fixed UFC probably got tired of Anderson and his broken english, and probably paid him to take a fall. Anderson Silva stuffed most of Weidmans takedowns, and looked like he could finished Weidman at any moment, he just didnt throw at all. And the punch he got dropped with, wasnt that hard, it just seemed like he took a fall
