He will stand and bang with anyone, and is arguably the most vicious striker in the division. Spoiler
Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber [UFC Bantamweight Championship] The Axe Murderer vs. Chris Leben Tito Ortiz vs. Ryan Bader (Time to retire Tito. Thanks for the memories.)
Melvin Gallard came to my mma gym to train one time, unbelievable speed, not just hands but wrestling too.
Yeah, he was a state champ in wrestling during his HS days in Louisiana... he actually received a scholarship to wrestle at D-1 powerhouse Nebraska, but didn't make the ACT score to qualify. He's the UFC's most explosive 155-pounder, in my book. Not to mention, he's NEVER been KO'd in his career... ridiculous considering he's notorious for getting in to slugfests.
Tito Ortiz hasn't had a win since 2006. Why in the world is he still on main cards? Does anyone still care about him?
Guillard is really getting screwed over by the UFC. This guy is cutting right through all the competition and deserves a title fight. How the hell is he still on the undercard??? He recently suggested a light weight grand prix tournament to determine the number one contender since the division is so stacked. I'm all for it. http://www.mmamania.com/2011/6/23/2...tweight-grand-prix-tournament-is-the-solution
I hope we get some good fights because there is a lot of potential in these matchups. It will be very hard to put on a show like 131 though, because those fights were unbelieveable.
For those of you unfamiliar with Guillard... <iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pw2fsvlCJ5s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Agreed. In every fight I have watched if he goes to the ground you might as well call the fight. If the other fighter has even poor/mediocre submissions Melvin is a guillotine waiting to happen.
