Machida Rampage would be interesting because Machida does not have the wrestling or grappling that Rashad has. But I think Rampage's next fight should be a rematch with Forest.

Said Evan was probably gonna win this and I was right. Rampage is a funny guy but he isn't the brightest person. Fighters that follows a certain gameplan just like Forrest Griffin and Evans did tonite with the stick and move really do work on Rampage. Disappointed that Rampage wasn't more aggressive in the fight but Evans probably gotten in his head with that one big punch he landed at the beginning. It was an ok fight but definitely should've been a 5 rounder smh.

oh well anyone have a link to a video of the Diego fight cuz I missed it???

So who is Rampage going to face next?

When do you think his next title shot will be?

DaDream - You won. Let me know what you want the sig to be.

On the fight, this another fight where Evans won and I'm less than impressed. He had a nice hit early on and a good takedown. Other than those two things he did nothing save hold Rampage against the cage. For all the talk about his wrestling, Rampage has some damn good takedown defense.

It was funny hearing about his speed when Rampage was landing some shots on him. The way I felt was Evans can't catch someone to KO consistently and sure enough he had one solid hit. Rampage is going to get in there most of the fight and did, though if you listen to Joe "I'm bumped out on coke" Rogan he only landed one punch.

Just like the Thiago Silva fight, Evans was let off the hook. It looked like ring rust hurt Rampage, but damn. If he had swung at Evans and missed I think the air would've put him on the map. I'm also surprised Herb Dean didn't call it earlier, we've all seen fights get called before that.

In the end, I think we saw the best Rashad could bring and a lackluster Rampage. Even then, Rampage could've easily won it. If Jackson stays I think his next fight will be a good one. This is a low point for him performance wise.

As for Rashad, I think Shogun will expose him even more. You don't question that guys focus. I can see Rashad being a minor player in the LHW division over the next few years, but nobody special and no where near the way some people see him now. Time will tell.

If he doesn't make it back to the top its, like you said, because of his focus. I am a full believer in ring rust. If Rampage is serious about fighting, we'll see a lot more out of him in the future. That seems to be a big if though.

    Nice post wakko....

I believe Shogun with expose Rashad as well....

Shogun will not have ring rust.....and will not give ne time to recover.....Shogun will have the killer instinct that rampage was lacking last night....

All rampage had to do was keep the pressure on rashad after he dropped him.....but he was to gassed.....

    Lackluster win by Rashad...

It's funny reading people constantly doubting Rashad. Every fight, every win it's more of the same.
The guy does what he has to win and it may not be the prettiest but it's effective. Yeah he got let off the hook vs Silva and Rampage at certain moments but doesn't that happen to almost every fighter?

I felt Rashad wanted this fight more than Rampage and won with the help of his fitness and gameplan.
    Rampage not so much.

So anyone know what's up next for Rampage?

I am not an avid MMA fan like all you peeps, but I knew that from the TV show, these two peeps were at each other's throat... and it built up quite nicely.

I want to see some technique and skill... I don't mind the boring grappling... Replay not worth seeing?

Loved it when he beat the **** out of chuck liddel in 2007. I think every Ufc fanboy had a huge crush on chuck at the time.

If Rampage was in better shape he would have finished Evans in that third round. Rashard was literally wobbling around for over minute after he finally got up.

No, it doesn't happen to every fighter. In most cases when they're caught like that, they get put away. He wrestles around and does a lot of nothing. Just enough.....not even to win, but to not lose. I don't doubt the guy because of his attitude, I doubt because what I've seen from him in the ring.

For those football fans out there, it reminds me of the Bears the last time they went to the Superbowl. Rex Grossman was garbage, but his team found ways to win, even when they didn't look like the best team on the field. In the end, he was exposed and we all know where he's at right now. It'll be interesting to revisit this topic a year from now.

I do agree that the biggest question for Rampage is his focus. I felt he lost it more than Evans won. I hope that a lot of it is just ring rust and he'll still give his all for at least a couple of more years. If he does, I see him as one of the top three light heavies consistently for a little while.
