I'll be going to Lake Charles, LA on the weekend of July 10-12 to go gambling up at L'auberge du lac Casino. I really didnt want to go that weekend due to UFC 100. I'm a huge UFC fan, and other than being the 100th ppv, its also a stacked card. They dont have the fight playing at the casino. Does anyone know of a place that might have it on down there? Any suggestions are more than welcome and are greatly appreciated. Here is the fight card by the way: Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir (UFC Heavyweight Title) Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves (UFC Welterweight Title) Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher Mark Coleman vs. Stephan Bonnar Dong Hyun Kim vs. TJ Grant Jon Jones vs. Jake O'Brien Mac Danzig vs. Jim Miller CB Dollaway vs. Tom Lawlor Shannon Gugerty vs. Matt Grice
Im so pumped for it. That card is freaking stacked. I really don't want it to happen but I definitely can see GSP losing to Alves. Alves has been on a roll.
I'm worried about Alves too. Dude's a beast. But I got faith in my Canasian Ninja. I think Lesnar is going to roll Mir pretty bad. First round TKO. John Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago. Fitch gave GSP a run for his money. Henderson vs. Bisping should be a great matchup. Mark Coleman vs. Stephan bonnar. Bonnar's fights are always exciting. and my Korean brother Dong Kim's fighting too?! AWESOME would be an understatement for this card.
If they are not showing it anywhere in the casino, then go watch it at the BW3 thats really close to the casino. Don't know exactly the name of the street but you pass by it when you're driving out of the casino towards the highway that connects you to I-10. This card is must see, even the prelims are going to be good
This is the 3rd UFC to come to my home city I'll have bad ass seats yet once again. Hopefully the main event happens this time and the fighters don't get hurt backstage
For people wanting to know where to watch this in Lake Charles. Buffalo Wild Wings is right down the road from the Casino and they host all the UFC's. Or they have another place down Prien Lake called Sportsmans Paradise. Which will more than likely be hosting UFC fights. If anyone has any other questions about Lake Charles, I can give you some answers.
I am shocked the casino isn't showing it. I guess they figure it would take away from people gambling.
I saw the ad for it on Spike yesterday and I'm so stoked. Some sweet fights and rematches on the cards. Can't wait.
Thanks for the BW3 suggestion. The card is just so stacked, I can't miss this one. I'll be gambling for 3 days straight, so it will also give me something else to do while I'm down there. Thanks a million! -------------------------------------------------- My predictions: Mir over Lesner (Sub) St. P over Alves (TKO) Fitch over Thiago (Sub) Bisping over Henderson (Unanim. Dec) Akiyama over Belcher (Sub) Bonnar over Coleman (KO) Kim over Grant (TKO) Jones over O'Brien (KO) Miller over Danzing (Split Dec.) Dollaway over Lawlor (TKO) Grice over Gugerty (KO)
If you are going to Buffalo Wild Wings, you better get there very early. That place is packed on UFC events very early. I suggest sitting at the bar, you'll get a better view. If Buffalo is too packed, Sportmans Paradise should be airing it. When you leave Buffalo Wild Wings leave the parking lot like your going to casino, but turn left. At the redlight, make another left. Go through I think 4-5 redlights(maybe 5, can't really remember). Sportsmans Paradise will be on the right. If they are airing UFC at Sportsmans Paradise, I suggest going there if your just wanting to watch the fight. Terrible food, but less of a crowd.
I hope that somehow Jon Jones vs Jake O'Brien makes it to the televised card. Jon Jones is the future and is one of the most exciting fighters to watch. If anyone saw the first round of the Stephan Bonnar fight you know what I'm talking about. Here's a video of the fight: http://mixedmartialartvideos.com/stephan-bonnar-vs-jon-jones-video-ufc-94/
The guy is the LeBron James of MMA. He's a 6'4'' light heavyweight with a 84.5" reach and has an awesome Greco-Roman wrestling base and crazy athleticism. Although the craziest thing is I saw an interview that he picked up a lot of his striking technique from watching YouTube videos. Imagine what this kid could be if he had proper training.
