Thank god. He should have been fired years ago. Guy was completely clueless about the type of game his team needed to play. They are not top tier but there is talent there. The way the played they were lucky to last as long as they did, despite being in a weak group.
True. Should have been gone long ago if you ask me. Brexit 2.0 confirmed. I reckon England just wanted to go whale watching. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jun/23/icelandic-firm-offers-england-players-whale-watching-holiday-euro-2016 England is now Spain before 2008... Great team on paper but always disappointing.

I don't really buy that the talent is there. They have about as much talent to get them about as far as they went. They were only expected to reach the next round because it was against Iceland, almost any other opponent and they would have been expected to lose.

Man, seeing Iceland advance hurts my soul. Both them and Hungary can score against Portugal, but we can't. Well, it wasn't unexpected, when you play conservatively/like a timid p***y, coaching makes a difference. And our "coach" made too few adjustments and too late. At least Italia doesn't disappoint.
Was not 100 percent serious but I am sure they could have found someone more prominent. He was talking about building an even better farm system and youth system. but he is overlooking that the entire nation was behind them Iceland and players from Iceland were semi professionals or even amateurs not long ago. IMHO this is not comparable to a country that is a huge sports nation with a huge population, soccer just not being sports No 1 or even in the Top 3. Totally different situation! BTW here is to Iceland and bottom's up!
Graeme Le Saux could have said the same thing about Germany just on a grander scale. They did well under Loew and continue to do well. Several players with immigration background in unison.
This notion that this England team is talented is false. They are just sub par They were talented when they had the likes of Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard, Ashley Cole, Rio, Terry, Sol Campbell, Gary NEville, Beckham, Owen etc in their primes but the F'ed up by weird decisions like shunting Scholes out left etc.
He's lived in the US since he was 5 and grew up playing the game. I don't think where his family comes from is relevant.
Sure. I did not initally see that, but also I googled and he was not working in the soccer department all his life. Just thought he could probably teach you a thing or two about cricket. I also do not think Klinsmann is the right choice anymore sure he was one of the best strikers and works well with young players but he is not among the best tacticians. Not with coaches like Pellegrini, Conte, Ranieri and so on. And someone mentioned Pekerman.
Beckham lacked a left foot and a game to win 1 on 1 encounters, blowing past the defender technique. Would have made him a winger, the best one with his crosses.
