3 yrs isn't a long time for NBA standards, Sengun is just 21 or 2 yrs younger than rookie Hakeem. So we expect Sengun to be much better than Hakeem before we stop checking out as fans? How long have the Spurs been bad? They got Josh Primo the same time as Rockets drafted Sengun and Dejounte Murray before the Rox got Sengun they still one of the worst team in the L. If Spurs with Popovich takes more than 5 yrs why the hell is everyone expecting results in just 3 yrs? It makes zero sense.

And you still haven't explained how saying you got stars that need time and then complaining the team is bad now makes any sense. Don't you answer your question why the team is bad now when you say you have stars that need time? If the team was good now you wouldn't have stars that need time you'd have stars period.

I’m not remotely saying I’m checking out. I’ve been a fan since I was about 10 years old in 1984. I’m not going anywhere. But it’s ok to be frustrated. If you’re not that’s awesome.

This is a strawman argument. If you believe this team has the talent to be a true contender before multiple years of significant development or changes, that's unrealistic imo.

Another strawman is suggesting that it has to be between what we are right now and a “true contender”. I’d be satisfied with something in between.

What's realistic is the 30-40 win predictions fans made at the beginning of the season. Rebuilds really do require years and patience but many fans can't take it or study real historical NBA rebuilds. Either that or become a treadmill team for years trying to shortcut the process to win now short term over long term.

My original post was about the thread idea FYI and not directed at anyone as well just to clarify.

Okay, we can agree to disagree. You quoted me, not looking to argue. It's okay to have different opinions. Have a good one

I’m hoping Brooklyn call this summer and offer us Bridges. We need another Star to compete in the West. Brooklyn is losing and Bridges is shooting terrible trying to be their #1 star player. I would give them Jalen, 2 swaps and a pick for Bridges. Bridges is a #2 on a playoff team and a #3 on a championship team. Sengun is a #2 on a playoff team and can become a #1 on a championship team IF he can provide a outside shot efficiently and improve at the free throw line. Sengun will be hard to stop if he can shoot from the outside effectively. Scoring 27-30 points a game would be easy for him. He needs a power forward, who can help him defensively. We need a shot blocker who can block shots, and make opponents feel uncomfortable when driving to the lane.

Honestly, I do not think Stone will be active this summer at all. He is way too conservative and we are becoming a mediocre franchise.

I think Ime is a good coach especially on the defensive side. I am somewhat concerned about his offensive prowess but will cut him a lot of slack in that area giving him another year before I make any final judgements. The one thing that really bothers me about him is the blaring Jalen Green issue. Why is he still starting? Is it a Stone or Fertitta mandate?

I've been saying since last year that the roster isn't that good. Players were getting good looks at the basket under Silas but were just bricking shots. We had no floor general since our offense was run by KPJ and we were horrible defensively because the roster was so young and inexperienced. We had promise from the young core, but it was unreasonable to expect so much from them early in their careers.

The 2021-22 Rockets only won 20 games and Stone did nothing to improve the 2022-23 Rockets besides drafting Jabari and Tari. We had a G-League tier team and it was like watching a bad reality show, "Who Wants to Make an NBA Team?" My condolences to Josh Christopher, Usman Garuba, TyTy Washington, and KPJ who were voted off Rockets Island after season 2 of the rebuild.

During the tank, Silas was the whipping boy sitting on top of the scapegoat while Stone hid in the shadows. Stone is like that dude that farts in an elevator and then leaves in a hurry. When the people left start to notice the stench they start blaming each other. Well, Stone farted on the roster for 3 seasons and people started to think the stench was coming from Silas.

The good thing about the Udoka hire is that there are no more 'poor coaching' excuses anymore. Udoka has us playing at a top-10 level defensive rating and the offensive issues are mostly due to the inconsistency we've seen from Jalen Green. When we troubleshoot the Houston Rockets, we've already replaced the coach, now it's time to replace the players...and GM.

    1. Teams depend on stars to win.
    2. Coaching matters.

These two can both be true. Why do people have to pitch them against each other?
