    Whoever said UAE was "progressive"?

The government there is all about power and $. They don't care about much of anything else-- labor rights, human trafficking, religious piety...

Definitely freedom of speech issues there, but the article made this sound more like a net neutrality problem

It's all about tracing IP and war on terrorism ,preventing identity thefts and

impersonations. Skype service is still available for temporary workers .

1.: You didn't read the article.
2.: You're embarassing as always. Getting paid by the government to write this trash or are you really this brainwashed?

1-this type of articles directed toward readers like you, who knew nothing or so little but they assume by reading the last line, they know it all

2-critical thinking is lacking in your case

    3-[IMG]

Countries in purple are classified as highly censored/monitored cyber zone

4- how about arguing within the article it self or something related ,instead of expressing poor sense of judgment toward others or total ignorance of the topic it self

You are an idiot. DD is right.

Let's remember that Mathloom worked for that dictatorship. And that he still has the nerve to spew anti-USA propaganda on this forum.

UAE has a tremendous "slave" labor that they use from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines that most ordinary Americans or European nations dont care about. The have a rampant sex trafficking industry, AND are highly corrupt. The superficial wealth in terms of golf courses, big buildings etc...is what it is..superficial.

here is an older article...but feel free to google human rights issues in the UAE.

^^^ After reading the article DD posted, have to say that this is more about the government trolling the poor of the country who use certain apps such as Snapchat, Viber, Whatsap...to make free data msgs.

    greedy shmucks...

It's both censorship and greed, which characterizes the government and many of the Emiratis perfectly.

I was since early age involved in family business around the GCC and those countries are highly underrated when it comes to transparency and HR , those you called slave labor have better health care, retirement fund, law protection ,legal representation etc, than the Mexicans have.,every single temp. Worker receive a SIM card upon arrival to the airport with quick dial no. of essentials department and embassies.

human trafficking is a Russian thing, they are doing in in Dubai or in Israel.you grant them access of entry as visitor or investor and they do their thing. I seen worst in different places.

As of speaking of "superficial ".it is as.. common to hear chants of anti American , but granted some would not 2nd guess for a sec. to have an opportunity to live there .

you should check labour law from official websites if you are truly concerned

They don't charge taxes. Maybe since oil revenue is down they got to make money in other ways.

thanks...this why I keep a reminder to my self to stay humble.

Google living in use or other countries from expat perspective from different nationalities , might give you some detailed insights

As for Lubeck ,it's just about business ethics and practices ,not going into details
