I hope this is true about the 80's sound coming back. U2 is my favorite band anyway, and I listen to the old stuff all the time. The newer stuff may have sounded more polished, but I miss the energy and enthusiasm from records like "October". Don't get me started on "Pop" - has its moments but gets old. "All That You Can't Leave Behind" was considered a return to the old sound and everybody else liked it, but I thought it sounded anemic and just wasn't the same. I know Bono can't help having blown out his voice over the years, but I just couldn't get into the whole second half of that album. On the other hand, the more recent "Electrical Storm" was a good sign... things may be looking up. (Just a bunch of random opinions.)
