Yeah, I just got the Seinfeld's separately for $52. With the hours and hours of extra footage, it is WAY worth it to me.
wow... can't wait... must go to the store... ...when I have time, that is. Maybe tonight at Wal-Mart if I'm feeling energetic. (We don't have too many shopping options out here.) At least it's something to look forward to. Hopefully. I didn't like All That You Can't Leave Behind as much as most people seemed to.
The 'set' contains Seasons 1-3, or you can buy them separately (although 1-2 are together no matter what, I think).
I've seen Seinfeld episodes so many times that I can almost recite every word. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I still catch an episode or two daily. It's my brain's comfort food, I guess.
Not a big fan of the first 2-3 seasons so Id have to pass. Although, Id love to own it for pure novelty purposes.
Well of course I got the U2 cd today. I didn't want that collectors edition with the book but I did want the DVD so I looked for the CD/DVD version, but for some reason, my local Best Buy didn't have that one in stock. I had to ask twice before somebody figured out that they forgot to stock them on the shelves. davidwu, did you buy the seinfeld dvds at B&N or online? Man, I thought Best Buy would have a better price, but they'r $29.99 each. That box definately doesn't seem worth it. The novelty crap is crap, the script with hand written notes woud be cool, but not for 20 to 30 dollars more.
That Complete U2 box set came out on iTunes today. All the albums, b-sides, previously vinyl only tracks, fan club only live cds, rareties, and unrealeased tracks. One track I saw on there that is interesting is "Native Son," which is what Vertigo was orginally called when it had different more political lyrics. I wonder if I can just buy that seperate, will have to check on that when I get back to my apartment. BTW, when I was in the store today, I noticed the latest crap the record companies seem to be pulling. There are new "re-release" versions of some CDs I bought no that long ago. Franz Ferdinand and Los Lonely Boys are the first that come to mind. The reason I'm mad is that they come with quite a bit of extra stuff like different songs, alt versions, live footage. It's like the record companies have adopted the business model of the studios who put out like 2 or 3 versions of popular movies and always a few months apart.
I haven't bought a U2 album in more than 10 years, but I may buy this one. As far as Seinfeld, no thanks. I guess that show was somewhat more amusing than oral surgery, but I found the characters more irritating than funny. I would be hard pressed to watch more than a couple of minutes of it.
I'll probably pickup Seinfeld, but the big realease for me today was Nine Inch Nails: The Downward Spiral - Deluxe Edition. The downward spiral remastered and in 5.1 surround? Oh yes!
I bought the gift set, and was shocked to see that it included a chrome-looking napkin holder, as well as the ceramic salt and pepper shakers, the deck of cards with the pictures of the cast on them, and the script, with the handwritten notes. I'm staring at it in anticipation, waiting to bust into that box. It reminds me of the time, right after I met my wife, when I gazed at her lovely... uh, nevermind!
