I read their website periodically, and it appears to be incredibly biased. The opinion stuff and cartoons in particular. I can't remember ever seeing something that is positive to the US on that site.

Also, how do they mysteriously always get the Al Queda videos? Somebody there knows how to get in touch with Al Queda. Why isn't that information shared with our braves troops who are over there battling the war on terror?

Sounds exactly like www.foxnews.com to me.

If anyone cares to enlighten themselves about Al-Jazeera, watch
The Control Room. I saw it over the weekend. I used to have a low opinion of Al-Jazeera. Not any more.

Let me guess. This movie is showing in the same theaters that brought us Fahrenheit 9/11. Do I need to go a couple of days without showering, let my hair grow to my waist, and put on my birkenstocks to get inside the theater? I guess my "support the troops" green wristband probably would be frowned upon there, too.

Your brain-pan has a steady drip to it today......

See mcmark's post below, and call us when you get a clue. The rest of the world can't help it if all you watch on television is American Idol and the E! Channel. But, then again, you did graduate from Rice, so what are we to expect!

There are some great performers on this season's American Idol. Couldn't you use another vocalist for your band, RM?

It's part of the required uniform for members of the 101st Chairborne Keyboarders.

    no no!

The wrist band is too small to put the whole quote on there.

"I support the troops....so I can drive this monster SUV."

Yeah I understand that's how many liberals feel.

    Shameful indeed.

I suspect it was just the type of accident that happens routinely in war.

Hey, war supporters, this is what you support. It isn't all just flag waving, yellow ribbons.

This type of stuff probably happens at least daily. When it is Iraqis who are gunned down, it isn't even news worthy.

Glynch I propose you run a white flag up a pole, jump on a boat and go surrender to Great Britian to atone for that silly war for freedom our war-mongering for-fathers so foolishly fought.

    :)

U.S. Shootings Strain Ties with Iraq Allies
    By REUTERS

    Published: March 7, 2005

    Filed at 12:50 p.m. ET

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. forces in Iraq faced new strains with allies on Monday when Bulgaria said they had probably shot dead one of its soldiers after angering Rome by killing an Italian secret agent who rescued a hostage.

The shootings confirmed what for many Iraqis is a daily reality -- that U.S. forces are too quick to open fire and often kill innocent civilians in their efforts to crack down on insurgents, who killed at least 23 people in fresh attacks

There stuff is at times slanted against the U.S. At times our policy is slanted against various nations as well. That doesn't mean that each don't have a reason for their slant.

The fact that they are delivered al-Qaeda tapes in no way goes to show that they know or are working with Al-Qaeda. Whether or not their stories are favorable to the U.S. all the time still doesn't make Al-Jazeera the enemy.

The fact still remains they are media outlet that is independent of a particular nation, and aren't bound to any group.

The film Control Room is one of my favorites. You might want to check it out. It shows a different perspective, without making too much comment on what is good or bad. They just show how it is different, and it was refreshing to see. The film also has a U.S. armed forces media person as one of the main characters.
