HayesStreet, have you heard the Reyes for Owen rumors? Supposedly Reyes isn't settled in London and wants to go back to Spain. I think it would be a bad move for you, IMO Owen is one of the most overrated players in the game.

Yeah, in addition to the whole Cole tapping up bruhaha going on, I've seen the Reyes rumours as well. I think Owen IS overrated, but then again he's got a great goal scoring record at every level. He might be a great foil for Henry who likes to go out wide, and he's still on 25 (which is only 4 years older than a relatively unproven Reyes). I like Reyes a lot, and can't imagine that Arsene would let him go for a variety of reasons. But if Real wants to ship Owen and 12 million pounds, I might do it. Owen might have the added benefit of appealing to Gerrard (yes I know I'm dreaming!). I also understand that part of the agreement with Sevilla was that we couldn't ship Reyes back to Spain within a certain timeframe (2 years I think) for the same reason they didn't want to sell him to Real - mainly because they don't want to face him on the pitch.

Do you think an Owens Henry combo wouldn't work?

I think it would work. They are the opposite types of fowards and would complement each other well. Henry plays very well with his back to the goal and has great vision. Owen plays better moving towards goal. It would cause teams to either back off Henry to contain Owen's speed or to pressure Henry which leads to through balls for Owen either from Henry or out of the midfield.

Owen and 12 million?!? You only payed an initial 10.5 for Reyes, and Real payed 8 for Owen. And you are really stretching on Gerrard, he'll either stay with the scousers, or move to Chelski or Real.
