I'm not saying it's independent, it is propaganda, which I believe we used in WWII.

But it isn't scrapping the whole system either.

I thought we were fighting a small band of insurgents? Remember, Mission Accomplished was long ago. Why are we spewing propoganda on the people that are supposed to love us and welcome us with open arms?

I don't see how you can claim to be helping to implement democracy while doing the very things that undermine the idea of democracy.

It wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't been caught.

Rumor has it, Jeff Gannon was hired (again) by Bushco to inflitrate the evil media. Jeffy performed his "services" on someone with AL Jezera to get press credentials, so he could lob softball questions to the random Iraqi leader of the week.

Also, keep an eye out for Armstrong Williams new book, which is only available in Aribic, it is called "Why Allah Loves George Bush"

Or what the Democrats pay CNN, MSNBC, memo-gating CBS, the LA Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, PBS, NPR, Boston Globe, Columbia Journalism Review, Editor & Publisher, etc.

Can you please link some stories that show the Democrats have paid for favorable coverage on the news?

There certainly have been several where the administration has been caught paying the news to give them positive coverage.

Either side is not about honesty... its about ratings. Controversy sells, hence the reason the Guardian, BBC and NY times will only put negative things about the war in their paper. Fox on the other hand, realizes that there is no media putting forth positive information about the war, so they cover this to rope in the "pro-war" crowd. The media is all about the $$$, not publishing the truth.

and frankly the democats paying the media off isn't as big as the administration paying the media off.

one is the opposition party without power. the other runs the entire gov't.

Actually there would only be a slight distinction in my book. But we still haven't seen any stories about democrats paying off the media. We have concrete facts showing that the administration has.

The funny thing is that Rumsfeld was just yesterday talking about how great the free press was in Iraq.

It's the media's fault for reporting this. If they hadn't reported it, they wouldn't have gotten caught

    1. Military plants pro-US stories in Iraq, clamiing insurgents are pacified.

    2. CNN reports, "Iraqi Press Reports Insurgents Pacified In Iraq"

    3. Bush uses CNN Report: "Insurgents are getting their ass kicked in Iraq, even the Iraqi press is behind us!"

What a world we live in.
