If I have an extra $10, I have choices what to do with it - give it to Clutch or send it to a charity. I will always pick the latter because I can provide Clutch $10 by simply clicking on ads, meaning both the charity and Clutch end up with $10. I know you've demonstrated many times that you have limited finance understanding, but this is simply basic money management. If you can't grasp that concept, I think Rice needs to be un-accredited.

You seem more obsessed with yourself and what you do with the $10 than with the benefits it provides for others - not terribly surprising, but that's not - and I hope never will be - me. I would hate myself if I ever became that kind of a person.

So it's just not worth it to you to give directly to Clutch, even though you've spent 9 years and posted over 11,500 times and even shared your account with RM95. Why then is it worth it to spend your time clicking on ads, when you could be spending that time working with charities? Your story is just ridiculous. Just man up and donate to this site, just like thousands of others have done. Would it ruin your life to reward Clutch with a mere $10 donation? Virtually all of the major posters on this site have donated, with some exceptions (Rocket River comes to mind). They can donate but you can't? Quit giving lame excuses and just donate. Clutch has earned it.

I always saw Consumer Confidence as a trivial statistic rather than an economic indicator. It certainly can't be grouped amongst GDP, job data, or inflation. Consumer confidence during the early 2000s recession was actually higher at some points that it was ever during the periods from 2003 till now.And the US certainly isn't poorer than it was in 2000. Some good news I guess is the last time it dipped below 70 was right when the economy rebounded. A lot of people I know use this more as a contrarian indicator, kinda like an investment sentiment, bulls vs bears type thing.

I wish they grouped it amongst economic classes to see each individual group is doing. You could compare how well you are doing against your individual economic class.

Nope. But you're apparently too stupid to understand basic logic, so it's something you'll clearly never understand. You go on being inefficient with your decisions. I'll continue to be smarter with mine. And I'll be continue to be glad that I will never be as self-centered and egotistical as you.

Major, you have to understand that T_J uses basic 4th grade logic. When his argument has been blown to high hell, he finds something totally irrelevant to distract from the inadequacies of his argument in the topic at hand.

Why not debate the subject instead of going on a complete tangent.

Yeah - I need to better learn to not get sucked in. The logic just gets worse and worse, so it's gets easier and easier to dismantle, and I keep getting sucked back in. Blah.

Aren't your premiums for selling the call rights reduced though with a lower priced stock (e.g. call rights for 1 contract for 10$ stock cost the exact same as call rights for 2 contracts for 5$ stock (ceteris paribas)

Oh yeah - definitely. If you have enough stock, the stock price doesn't matter. It's just that to make it work with Apple, for example, you have to own $15,000 in stock since you need 100 shares. To do it with a $10 stock, you only need $1000 worth of the stock.

Of course, in the latter case, the commissions involved with buying/selling options may override any value if you're doing just 1 option contract - but that all depends on your brokerage and such. Also worth considering is the liquidity of the options. For some $10 stocks, you can trade options at $8, $9, $10, $11, etc. For others, it might just be $7.50, $10, $12.50, etc. The former is much easier to manage when rolling over options since it will be easier to find a similarly priced option for the next month. In the latter scenario, if you have to roll over the option, you may have to do it many months out if you want to get a similar price to your expiring one.
