He owes over $20 million. If he tried making that back by fighting local boxers, he'd never make the money back and he'd probably cripple himself in the process.

The reality TV thing is a good idea though. If he can get one hit, like the osbournes or the simpsons, then he might be able to get out of his debt.

But whatever he does the days of $50 pay-per-views are over.

Yeah it kind of looked Tyson may have just been resigned to his fate. He looked more stunned than hurt.

If Tyson fights again, he needs to stay away from these larger heavyweights, with big reaches like Lewis and Williams.

Wow the heavy weight division is in shambles.

Not that Tyson has been a great figher recently but he was the only real draw left. Now that he is done I don't know how long it will take to get another good heavy weight.

Anyways Tyson gave it his all in the 1st round and it wasn't enough.

I was very let down that Tyson lost this fight. :(

Anyway, I had a great time at SRO, finally got to meet two cf.net legends.

I watched it up at Jillian's. That was a heck of a fight. I really think Tyson is done now...he'll have trouble getting anymore big name fights. I know Williams said that Tyson will probably want a rematch, but I honestly don't think the public will have much interest in that. I wonder if you can file bankruptcy for a $20 million debt?

    Harris,

He already has filed for bankruptcy I think. Thats why 75% of his purse was going towards debt. It was part of his reorganization plan.

Refman would be the expert on bankruptcy law...I end up dealing with it more on the creditors' side, and he represents individuals filing bankruptcy...but i'm guessing Mike had to file a Ch. 13, which is a personal reorganization..where you end up paying off your creditors on some reduced pro rata share...as opposed to a Ch. 7, which is a total liquidation.

I would guess the earning capacity of Tyson was adjudged to be such that a Ch. 7 was held to be out of the question for him. So he gets put in a 13, where coming back to fight to make some money for creditors is part of the plan...a plan that has to be approved by the creditors, themselves. I'm guessing those creditors weren't real thrilled with last night's results.

It was great hanging out with codell again and nice to finally meet coma. I was holding out hope that he was bringing me some Frenchy's, though.

Wish we could've watched the Astros finish out the win.

Must have been the third time he was knocked down, that's how the game worked anyway...
