Damn, that is far from me! I wouldn't mind the drive, but my wife isn't going for the idea. We just drove home from the Northwest side, and we live on the southeast side. We have some friends that live near Jillian's so we'll probably head out there.

drapg - I'll be the tall white dude wearing a brown polo looking shirt and jeans. I'll look for you guys out there.

My wife has to work late so I'm stuck home with the kids.

Enjoy the fight and I expect a full review.

    And a Taco Bell.

Anyhoo, that sounds fun. I haven't been to SRO in 8 years.

I remember during the Rockets hey day, they had huge TV screen set outside cause it would be so damn full.

I remember this one game agaisnt the Sonics. It was a 6:30 start, and man, that sun was so ****ing hot. And as it set, it was a b**** to watch the tellie.

Danny Williams KO'd Tyson! I'm surprised, I thought Tyson was going to fight some good-record no-talent fighter. Or maybe Tyson's just lost it.

wow, Tyson getting knocked out by a no namer who likes to cry before each match. At this point Evander Holyfield has a better shot at the heavyweight championship. Since this was Tyson's first fight in a year and half i figured since they picked the easiest opponent they could find he'd have no problem knocking him out in the first round.

No more 50 dollar pay per views for Mike

4 rounds, I didn't watch it, but it sounds like Williams went on a flurry at the end of the round and knocked out Tyson.

Wow, I'm stunned. That is absolutely the worst case scenario for Tyson. He lost on his very first fight in his bid to get out of his IRS debt. He might be done now. Not only in the ring, but financially he might never get back in the black.

I don't think it's a far cry to assume that Tyson might spend the rest of his life as a poor, penniless, vagabond hustling around from one low-rate scam to the next. It's just so shocking how his life has turned out.

RM95, Coma and I saw it at SRO. Heck of a fight, even though it was only 4 rounds.

Williams showed a very good chin. Tyson really took it to him early, like he usually does. Williams looked wobby once or twice, but he stood his ground and as expected, Tyson just ended up running out of gas IMO.

Williams ended up stalking Tyson around the ring in the 3rd and 4th. Williams started landing some heavy combos and Tyson ended up falling backwards into the ropes after a whole bunch of unanswered punches by Williams.

Tyson just doesn't do well with these big guys (long reaches). Tyson tried to get him inside and unleash some uppercuts. Williams just ended up using his long reach on the power punches and Tyson couldn't do anything with them.

    Just got back from Jillian's.

Tyson had him in the 1st, but it was all downhill after that.

Williams took some big hits, but tired Tyson out by hanging around.

Unfortunately, it was so loud that I couldn't figure out much about the point deductions.

Oh, and from what I could hear, it sounded like Tyson's trainer said he thinks Tyson should retire.

B/c of his name and reputation, I doubt he'll ever go broke. He'll always be a money-making scheme.

He could dabble in reality TV, go town to town and fight local boxers... He's Mike Tyson... That 15 minutes will never die.

Tyson needs to hang it up but he won't as long as people keeping buying his fights. He blew any serious shot at a return against Lewis II. I gave up after that fight. Now he is relegated to fighting scrubs and he can't even win those fights. How sad. I bet the other boxers aren't even scared of him anymore.

    drapg,

Williams lost points twice. The first time for hitting Tyson when the ref was breaking them up (I believe this is how Mike got cut).

I think he hit him with a low blow for the 2nd point deduction.

BTW, when Tyson was knocked down, what was the deal with that? He was just leaning back against the ropes looking up into the ring?? Was he basically out of it?

I didn't see the fight, but on ESPN News Kenny and Buster Douglas were discussing the fight. They said Tyson could have gotten up but in their opinion Tyson felt it was useless (ie he had given up) so he stayed down.

Yeah, I assumed b/c he didn't try to get up, and just sat there looking dazed, the ref decided it was over and jumped in.

Damn, it was sad watching his stamina fall apart round after round.
