I definitely don't have problem with giving chandler mot money, and actually will think hard if we have the chance to give him martin money... don't look like we'll get a chance to do those tho.
Chander will get a first all defensive team selection before it's all said and done. He may even win a DPOY if he develops the right way. Hence, it should be understandable to all that we are not getting him.
Hi IOrange, Glad to see you here. Guys, IOrange is NOT nobody. He owns the most popular hoopsite in China!
imagine.. tyson-23 yrs of age, yao at 25, and t-mac at 26... what an awsome young nucleus for a team. i think tyson and eddy curry have been great compliments for each other, eddy took over as the scorer and tyson as the rebounder... still hard to see that eddy's only a career 4+ rebounder. but the possiblities of adding a young up-and-coming player like tyson to our already "good" team is always good....
I think he will command more than that. As much as I like him, there are three things I am concerned about him. One, his shooting -- he has almost no outside shots, that is not good to pull defenders away from yao; two, his injuries -- he get injured too often; third, he's immature -- he plays out of control sometimes, like he purposely stepped on a down Hayward and got himself ejected. But I doubt the Rox will have the money for him.
For once I'd like the Rockets to take someone in the 1st round and actually develop him. The last time we made a good pick was 1999, when we got Kenny Thomas.
The wild card here is Atlanta. If they decide to back up the money truck on Tyson and Curry I doubt very much that Paxon is gonna match the "Kenyon Martin $$$." No i see them keeping one and trading the other. Probably matching the offer and then trading them. This is were I think Houston might have a shot.
As much as I would love it. There is just no way we could make the deal. You want to give up TMac or Yao? That's the only trades they would accept. Even 3 late 1st round picks wouldn't do it I think. Any pick after 9 is pretty much a gamble. I wouldn't do it if I were their GM.
Looks like Sherlock wants to be the meat in a Bulls sandwich. I don't see the rockets having any real shot at landing Chandler. Chandler was pretty much giving the run of the mill PR response.
Tyson would be nice for us but he isn't worth giving up 3 1st round picks. The Rockets have already made this mistake with EG and shouldn't try to do it again. The Bulls aren't likely to give him up anyway.
No doubt about it. Tyson Chandler is the best 8.0 ppg 9.8 rpg player in the NBA today. Let's open the vault good and wide for TC!!!
Unfortunately, that might be what it takes. When I mentioned the probability of 3 #1 picks, I assumed that, given how low those picks would be. It's all academic, regardless. We ain't gettin' him.
I think you may have forgotten about one of our first round picks in 2002. He's still on the team and turned out pretty well, don't you think?
Umm, what 4 positions? Is he a forward, center, forward-center, and center-forward? Chandler is a 4/5. He sure isn't a 3, and even more definitely isn't a 2. You're not going to get him without giving him the starting position. That much you can be sure of. (And yes, I would give him the starting position...unfortunately, Chicago doesn't really have anymore bad contracts to get rid of which helped motivate them to move Jamal Crawford to NY (Jerome Williams).)
The difference between those 3 horrid probably really late first round picks and the three lottary picks we gave up for EG is extreme. And Chicago would NEVER give him up for crap.
Very cool scoop iOrange. CF.net is crazy with player talks! Anyways..I'd love Tyson Chandler. He'd be great. He and Howard would be great duo. We'd have to give Padgett playing time too. But anyways..I don't think we can get him. It's tough as restricted free agent. The only way would be sign and trade..which would work..maybe it'll happen I don't mind that happening. He'd be great!
