"99) lue doesn´t even know how to spell 24-seconds violation...."
...Oh great, just what we need, another low IQ pg

Seriously though, Lue would be a good pg for those smaller quicker guards that lancet mentioned

Lue will make a decent backup...she is quite underrated in my opinion.

Lue is the kind of BACK UP pg teams are allways looking more, I seriusly doubt the rockets will cut him... Wilks most likley will get the boot, IMO.

Even if we get Barry or whomever, Wilks can stay, and gain experience. The Rockets evidently feel there's something to the guy, and planned on keeping him for development, not backup, when they protected him from Charlotte. Lue's the backup PG, and a good one. We'll be using Gaines to backup TMac at SG, I think.

    a) finally! if he was wearing anything other than purple and gold, he would've fouled out in no time.

    b) apparently holding iverson to 35.6 ppg is shutting him down now. that was 3 points higher than his average in the playoffs that year. even if i'm nice and take out the 48 point first game, that's still 32.5 ppg the rest of the series, right in line with his playoff average from 2001. i'm sure lue, with his speed, can be nice on D, but lets stop this shutting down AI nonsense because it never happened.

Exactly. He is the answer to their backup PG spot. Lue is simply too small for the starting PG position and will be badly exposed should he have to play too many minutes . He's a solid player with a good track record.

JVG stated in an interview with a NY radio station that Lue is a 'solid backup' which leads me to believe that he'll be our #1 PG off the bench...

I would like to see if Gaines can hold down the starting spot and bring Lue off the bench. He's a good player who comes cheap.

He's only a career assist of 3.2 and 1.2 TO in 23.2 minutes/game. His 3-pt game is at .385 which is decent. This is decent numbers for a backup PG. He's not going to cost the Rockets anymore than they paid Moochie.

Do you think Lue has a "hand shake" offer under the table for next year?
Maybe the Roxs wanted TMac so bad they agreed to pay him later.
Why else would he not opt out of his contract?

Decent? Those are GOOD numbers for a backup PG. ;)
With that 3pt percentage, asst/to ratio, and his energetic speed off the bench. He should fit in nicely in JVG's system.

Iverson didn't avg 35 against the Lakers. In fact he didn't even come close to his avg. If he did avg 35, they wouldn't have lost 4-1.

Lue stayed tight with Iverson to be able to pester him in the first place. Back in Iverson's hey day, holding him to 32 points was considered job done. And looking at the point total is just one side of the coin, what about his field goal percentage?

Can we all collectively give up the quasi-obsession with Mark Jackson. Dude was TERRIBLE last season. He is no longer an NBA player.

I think so. Considering it looks like Rafer Alston is set to sign a six-year deal woth $29 million.

We have a tremendous bargain for Lue--I think we had to talk to him and his agent and work on some minimum guarantees.

I am not so sure if we sign Fisher that Fisher can still beat out Lue for the starting 1 over most fo the year. Though Fisher played well in spurts last year, especially in the playoffs, Lue was better in every way over the regular season.
