Lowry/Scola/Patterson/16th for Evans/Garcia/5th pick (Thomas Robinson YES PLEASE). I'm VERY okay with this trade.
Lowry + Martin + Bud + #14 for Evans + #5 should get it done I think. I'd even say we could add Dalembert or Patterson if they want them. Evans has shown signs of greatness and injury set him back, this is our chance to take a flyer on someone who has actually proven something unlike Hill, Thabeet, Flynn, and TWill and get a top 5 pick.... This team is something that can be competitive now (compete for the 8th? ) and be a true contender in 3 years if Drummond and Evans pan out to be what they are supposed to be. Dragic / #16 (Marshall?) Evans / Lee Parsons / Morris Scola/ Pat/ DMo Camby / Dally / #5 (Drummond) Future line up Dragic Evans Parsons DMo Drummond Each of those players has potential to be a good to great player in the future. I like this idea of buying low on Evans.
his rookie year where he put up these so called "good" stats: only 1 pg averaged more minutes per game only 5 pg had a higher usage rate his ts% and ast% were bad his turnover% was mediocre his rebound% was good Too much was made of the 20-5-5 stat line. I do agree these are the kinds of risks the team probably has to consider, but the asking price would have to be dirt cheap in my opinion.
Not dirt cheap, but I would send one of our #14 picks + Chandler + Bud for him. I wouldn't even ask for the #5, unless it costs Lowry in the process.
a shooting guard that can't shoot and isn't a lockdown defender what kind of lineup do you have to put around this player to win? reke / twill is a good comparison these guys excel when given the ball and autonomy that style works when you have the best player on the court, but I don't think you win in the NBA if reke is your best player
The problem is we don't want him. Between resigning Dragic and trading for Evans you resign Dragic 1,000 times out of 1,000. Trading Chandler, you could be a fixture at SF for us for years (yes, i understand his game isn't perfect, but he's got SF role player locked down), would be dumb. The Kings may have other delusions about Evans value. But to me, you take on Evans in order to get the #5.
Now that is a very interesting question. I believe that Evans would be about the worst match for any team featuring a PG who features lane penetration as one of his major weapons. That being said if Evans were paired with Nash it certainly could work. You would have to load up with defense at the 3, 4, and 5. Nash, being the floor general he is, would get the ball into Evans hands at just the right time so that he could go to work. Heck, might work, but Evans is really not a classic SG. I really don't know quite what he is.
In a perfect situation TE would be a great 6th man, 2-3; point forward, change of pace; not for Rox not at this time.
IF you can get him for cheap, he is absolutely worth a shot. Look, I hate him more than anyone here. His basketball intelligence is off the charts, it is negative. To whoever compared him to Steve Francis, that is just ridiculous. Someone needs to go pull out their Steve tapes. Tyreke is an old, dead woman's version of Steve Francis. The offense Rudy wanted? Isolation + Shooters... All that said, he has some talent, FOR CHEAP...
We already do not have a lock down shooting guard. but evans gives us better contrac t and better asset to trade.t
Inefficient, yes. He was never considered uncoachable nor is he a "gunner" or a "shooter". Please show me an article or a quote that says he is uncoachable. Last I checked, he took around 15 shots a game last season. Don't get me wrong. Tyreke has been a disappointment so far with the Kings. I have had the pleasure and (mostly) pain of watching him for three years. But all this nonsense about him having a bad attiude and uncoachable irritates me. Since the incident after his rookie year, he hasnt gotten into any trouble. Nor is there ANY evidence that he is not coachable. The guy is the quietest, mellow guy you can meet. He has had some really crappy coaches his first few years. That's not an excuse with him not improving his jumper or his defense But he is still only 22. There is so much room for improvement still.
Maybe, but Martin is an expiring and probably won't be on the team after the trade deadline. I just cannot see how Evans fits at all with this team. The Rockets need a SG who can defend and light it up from behind the arc.
We need a game-changer SG more than anything. We need one that can get to the rim and create a shot off the dribble (although Evans can't make the shot). If he can get in the right environment and play with a competent coach, he may be able to flourish. Plus, if he doesn't work out, his contract expires. Depending on what we give up, I think it's worth a try.
I imagine Morey is interested in the 5th pick. It's what you have to do to get it that's the question, of course. At least Evans is an expiring contract, if he has to be part of a deal. At least for me, it isn't about Martin at all. It's whether taking Evans gets us the 5th pick.
Get that **** out of here. Martin maybe a better shooter, but Evans is better at penetrating towards the basket and finishing around the rim. A better rebounder, and a better defender than Martin. I would take that over a player that just jack up three pointers that can't close any games in crunchtime. I've actually seen Reke hit buzzer beating clutch shots unlike Martin, who disapears in the 4th.
