I haven't seen him play so this thread is helpful in finding out more about him. One comment though ... how many of the great players today could you say that same thing about? LeBron, Rose, Rondo ... there seems to be more and more guys who are strong skilled slashers but are weak from the perimeter...

That's such a strong word for a 10-13 team. We are nowhere near the levels of Minnesota or New Jersey. I've watched almost every game so far and we are far different from last years team.

As for Tyreke: he's got mad handles, is Wade like in getting to the hoop, great basketball instincts, good rebounder, good vision, plays defense. He is also the most composed rookie I have ever seen. Shows almost no emotion during the game. He's also had a positive impact on Donte Greene.

Weaknesses: Indecisiveness with the ball sometimes, misses point blank layups, jumpshot.

Weakness: Thick as a brick. Listening to him on Draft Night made me realize that any team that places its fate in his hands is going to be looking at a steaming pile of Letdown.

You can be dumb and an all-star no problems. But to actually win? Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Garnett, heck even Dwight and AI you can tell there's intelligence there, some personality, some cunning. Duncan is a quiet man but eloquent if you ever force him to open his mouth. Tyreke Evans is at "bucket of nails" level right now.

With the younger stars, with Paul, Roy, Deron, Durant, you can tell they get it. They know they're going to have to work hard in the gym and improve every year to one day have a shot at a championship. Listening to Harden and Evans in the draft made me understand why Sam Presti picked Harden over him (and don't even mention Westbrook because Evans is an obvious SG).

Back when he was still a Sophomore in highschool, Tmac went to see him play and he said he reminded him of himself when he was young. This was reported in Sports Illustrated, maybe Tmac has a future in scouting.

    - he has a basketball name 'Tyreke Evans'
    - he is very athletic, sick handles...6'0 PG speed and handles in a 6'6 body...hence very versatile.

I stand corrected. I didn't even bother checking the Kings' record, just assumed they continued their crappy play from the beginning of the season.

On a side note, funny how the Kings have played better since Kevin Martin's injury.

Not so sure whether the Clippers should have taken Evans instead knowing what would happen. Griffin did seem like the real deal for the brief moments on the floor and may very well turn into a 20-10 machine when he gets back.

You are associating intelligence with eloquence of speech. What if Evans gets with a media trainer over the summer and starts to speak just like Lebron (it's not that hard to do)? Does he automatically become a better player?

For those of you watching Tyreke Evans for the first time tonight, I don't even consider this his best game. 26/6/6 is a great stat line and they obviously wouldn't have won without him, but he's played better. His upside blows away Brandon Jennings. For that matter, his "right now" does too.

I know. I'm a late night dude so I watch a lot of west coast games. The spacemoth clown made one of the dumbest comments I've seen in awhile about evans. No one ever said you had to be a doctor to win, see moses. Evans has a great feel for the game just like roy did as a rookie. Not only that's, since martin has gone out, they've been better. Martin is a helluva scorer, but he's in that jamison/stackhouse mode where he doesn't impact the game. Evans is different on so many levels.

I dont whether the credit goes to paul westphal or Tyreke Evans .. probably both but the kings can actually call themselves a team for the first time since RA left .. they have a stunning record considering there best player is not playing
