Still mad you let a 2 time MVP walk away with nothing to show for it? Meh at least you have dampier, and a good future in Harris, wait.....

The Dallas Mavericks are a disease... a parasite if you will. They emerged from a sort of primordial ooze in the 1980s and soon after began infesting their way under the skin of many. They have a long storied history... from Roy Tarpley's still scalding hot crack pipe... to Dirk Nowitzki's collection of assorted David Hasslehoff figurines with custom made thongs. They rose to notoriety in the latter part of the 1990's when they were purchased by young, upstart internet tycoon Mark Cuban. Cuban's penchant for spending big money and demanding instant results was a tumultuous and exciting time for the Mavericks. Cuban made big trades early and often. He liked acquiring sweet shooting big men named Antoine (Antawn) but couldn't keep them. He signed Contract-year superscrub Erick Dampier to a large deal. Cuban's reckless nature, negative remarks about officiating, and general impatience with his team's performance was counterbalanced by Coach Don Nelson, one of the NBA's best. The Mavericks felt they were taking a step in the right direction by letting PG Steve Nash and Coach Don Nelson go, and they reached the NBA Finals in the 2006 season, only to be defeated by the Miami Heat. This defeat sent them into a downward spiral as the next season although they won 67 games, could not even advance to game 7 of the opening round of the 2007 playoffs. They were defeated easily by the Golden State Warriors... coached by none other than Don Nelson. The following season the Mavericks traded away a promising young flopper named Devin Harris and big man Desagna Diop to the New Jersey Nets for a wife-abuser with a jump shot that can only be described as "maddening." The Mavericks then went on to lose with regularity and finally were placed back in mediocrity by Kidd's shooting and Cuban's eating. Cuban eventually became too large to fit into his usual seat, and had to move up into a suite capable of housing his ever-increasing posterior. Dirk Nowitzki who had once been the MVP of the league is now a rotation player for the CBA's Yakima Sun Kings. Avery Johnson eventually found work as the voice of Krang in a new cartoon version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Devin Harris is the New Jersey Nets all-time leading flopper.
Do me a favor and google "NBA Champions".... Guess what franchise isn't referenced? Come out of hiding once you get a ring!
