I think as soon as Bev got hurt, that was it for Ennis. Ennis and Brown were probably close, but Morey probably felt like he wanted more "bench scoring" from Brown with Gordon in the starting lineup. And Pablo would be the 'steady hand' PG off the bench. Ennis didn't have a role at that point. I doubt Brown will be on this team very long.
Beasley would have disrupted MDA's offensive system so he wasn't going to see any playing time. I have no problem with the trade. It was a tactical gamble to fill a void at PG. Ennis couldn't convince the Rockets he could be a better fit with Bev out of the lineup over Brown.
Beasley came here last year and within the 1st few minutes he contributed instant offense. This without knowing any plays or having any sort of chemistry with the team. He was easily the 2nd best scoring option here. How easily are we gonna find someone like that?
