he doesnt shoot a lot of threes so the career 37% is useless, and in the playofs he's a career 31%. his threes have gone down since his first two years. if morey wnats him then i'll go with it but till then id rather get someone else.
Offensively he's damn near perfect. Defensively he creates a huge mess on the perimeter alongside Harden who has his own issues. Lawson was decently scrappy his first couple years, but last year he was a complete turnstile, and looked very disinterested. Might have something to do with the poor culture in Denver, but you can't just make those assumptions when you make a trade like this. You need to know for a fact he will be a better defender in Houston. I just don't know, but its a gamble at the very least. Offensively though he's a great fit. Shoots the ball from long distance well, is a top 3 distributor in the NBA who can create good looks for shooters, can break down the defense off the dribble, and play up-tempo. If you can keep the core together, and still trade for him I think you should do it. But does Denver want to trade him, and do the Rockets have enough to get him... I don't know. Probably not happening.
Our pace of play combined with his ability get up & down the court is beautiful. If Harden ever decides he doesn't wanna compete like he did game 5, Lawson is a more than trustworthy ball handler.
Lawson would be fine next to Beverley but I do not think he's the PG this team needs or the right player to bring. He might be one of the better available options out there but I just don't think he's the right fit. If we got him I cant help but feel that we would be settling. And Morey doesn't settle. I'd even consider searching for a playmaker outside of the point guard position if we're pigeonholed into acquiring Lawson. This is the same team that went after Melo last year. Don't assume Morey is resigned to cashing in all his chips for a point guard.
