Don't know if it's been mentioned but Ty Lawson's favorite player growing up was Tracy McGrady: https://m.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/2khuvj/its_ty_lawson_of_the_denver_nuggets_ama/
I like that he plays well against Chris Paul: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KIfcAbgP_Ps" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That's a good point that often gets overlooked. Some people are worried about how Lawson and Harden will coexist defensively -- but that's mitigated by the fact that most opposing point guards (with the exception of CP3 and Westbrook) aren't good at defense either, and will get exhausted chasing Lawson around. Not to mention, we have Beverly that we can throw on them periodically and most teams don't have anyone of his caliber.
1. Stein reports Rockets are in advanced talks with Nuggets (omg Morey) 2. Ty Lawson traded to Houston (Morey is awesome, but who did we trade??) 3. Traded for Prigioni, Papa, Johnson, Dorsey, protested 1st round pick (wow for scraps! Morey is a genius) 4. Lawson agrees to make his second year non-guaranteed (Morey is a gawd)
Yeah, pretty much. Don't forget the 2017 unguaranteed 2nd round pick we got from Denver in the trade as well. Should hopefully be a top 40 pick.
It's funny because if you told me we gave up something like T Jones and a pick for just Lawson, I still would have been ecstatic.
Not sure if this was posted already, but good article on Ty Lawson and the Rockets depth of talent in their prime
We all loved the Brewer, Ariza, and Smith additions. On a given night any one of those guys could win a game for you. There were times when DMo and Jones played like all stars as well. The difference between those 5 guys and Lawson? Consistency. Lawson will put up night in and night out 15-20 points and 10 assists with minimal turnovers. All star numbers. Every night. His impact is going to be so much more than the casual fan can anticipate. Lawson is a star player who unfortunately plays in the golden age of PGs and doesn't get the recognition he deserves. I still can't stop smiling about this:grin:
The best thing is Harden isn't in his prime yet. We have another 3-4 years and if this current group doesn't get it done we can rebuild around him again.
Nuggets president Josh Kroenke details team’s troubled relationship with Ty Lawson Hope this guy gets all the help he needs.
