Looking forward to the Rockets having a PG that likes to run and gun. Lawson, Brewer, K.J are all good in open court. Capela, Jones, Brewer, K.J., and Beverley all could be used to run. I'm expecting end unit players will try to increase pace a lot.
You have to look at the bright side of what appears to be a very serious substance abuse disorder: Lawson could have injured or killed someone while drunk and driving, and he didn't. I am crossing my fingers that he will get over this problem soon. As I see it, the mandatory 30-day at a rehab facility is the bottom or near it for Lawson and a needed wake up.
I would argue that we've not had one since John Lucas. Lowry called his own number more than Ty. There's a huge difference between 6.6 assists a game an 9.5. John Lucas was our best assister ever, but I never saw him play.
Very true. I one time dropped 11 threes with Luther Head online, the guy eventually quit and wrote me a message that I abused Head and it was unrealistic, although my threes were not rushed. Always played great with them and never backed off against the top teams. True Rockets Fans will always use the team, hopping on the bandwagon when the roster is top 5 is wrong and won't show your pride.

It's a classic case of a guy losing interest once his situation turned sour. When he was counted on to be a cog in a team with deep playoff aspirations, he showed up on the court. I'll grant you that it sounds similar to the Rondo situation, with the exception that a.) Rondo was a cancer for longer and had not been good in at least three seasons; b.) health was a big factor in reducing his ability regardless of situation; and c.) even at his best Rondo could never shoot. Lawson on the court fits our roster well. We always needed that secondary slasher/scorer, that distributor of the ball, and finally someone that can shoot the rock. An underrated aspect of the trade is that James Harden might be the #1 beneficiary, now not having to bring the ball up the court. Expect to see our turnovers go way down. Now, for the first time since maybe Sam Cassell, we finally have our pure point guard. Reminds me of the Texans fans' #NTlust (which was also satisfied this offseason). Finally, Lawson is just 27 years old. Plenty of time to get his **** together. May the change of scenery and the stability of veterans on our roster do it for him. Picture Lawson in the locker room with James, Dwight, Ariza, and Jason Terry. How do you look those guys in the eyes and not want to get your act together and show up for them.
So happy right now. I can't believe I missed this yesterday. Let's sign Terry and Hayes or Terry and Williams to complete our roster!
You never know the depth of the alcohol issue, could be something, might be nothing. But there is no place better to work it out than Houston. It could just take the promise of competing for a ring to change the focus, it could just take being among friends you don't want to let down. But we can offer the full " John Lucas" if needed. Even with keeping up moderate drinking I hope he has learned not to drive... no reason to at $12 million, you can have a driver. If he is suspended, even up to 25 games , we can sign Terry to hold down the fort. Our depth is a killer, better than it was in the 2015 playoffs. The second team can run teams into the ground, chasing down any early opponents leads and stretching our leads. It's 896 to 15 now. That's about on par with the 2% national insanity rate.
I am not worried about Lawson's DUI's one but. He has never been involved in an accident and for all we know was just above the legal limit each time. Dealing or doing drugs is one thing but having fun at a club and thinking you can drive home is something totally different. It could also be as innocent as not really understanding his impaired state more than uncontrollable abuse to himself. It is a bit unnerving that he has continued to do this several times throughout his life, but they seemed to be spread out before this year (when things were going south with Denver). I bet he doesn't get another one before his two year contract is up with us and gets the mentoring he needs here in Houston. HOUSTON..... We have a steal!
Lottery protected Spoiler

Just to be clear, the Rockets pick to Denver is lottery protected in 2016. Lottery protected, which means top 14. Barring injuries, highly unlikely that we would be in the lottery anyway.

I like what he can potentially do on the court but I don't like what he can do off the court but I do like what he can do offf the court along with James for my new business idea.
