Buying the season TV package next season. This move puts us there with anyone in the league as a championship contender.
The trade machine had the Rockets over the cap when they aren't. I think there are some cap holds and KJ's salary involved but in the end the Rockets could use the below-tax 150% rule even if the trade machine can't.
Good deal. We finally have a true PG on the team that will take some of the load off James. We will also have a playmaker on the court at all times.
Agreed, this trade makes me feel a lot better about loosing Smith. Although I personally would of preferred trading Jones for a pick and re-signing Smith since Jones AND Dmo are going to be free agents next summer, but I trust Morey made the right decision.
We didn't even give up terrance jones. Since we lost Josh smith, I wonder if we will just go ahead and keep jones?. Man if we sign Jason terry, will be pretty stacked.
Bingo, this is the exact same trade that Bima mentioned as it makes the most sense. The minimum amount of salary and the 2 large unguaranteed contracts that are huge chips for a team looking to save money.
Lawson ruined his trade value on purpose! It all makes sense now! Knew he was going to the Rockets and hurt his own trade value so the Nuggets couldn't ask for much in return (not even T.Jones was on the table anymore) Well that's the only reason I can see why the Nuggets got scraps!
[Stein] Fact that Houston had to surrender two guards in Lawson trade, I'm told, enhances chances of Jason Terry returning to Rockets in free agency (twitter.com)
[Spears] New Nuggets coach Michael Malone was extremely ecstatic with rookie PG Emmanuel Mudiay's play at summer league prior to the Ty Lawson deal. (twitter.com)
