Discussion in 'BBS Hangout: Debate & Discussion' started by MojoMan, Nov 30, 2018.

?

Should Tyson's life and career be destroyed as a result of these allegations?

  1. Sure. Zero tolerance for EVERY man accused by women of sexual harrassment and assault.

  2. No. These acts should be handled as potential crimes and all people deserve due process. Everyone.

  3. No. Kavanaugh's accusers should have been believed, but Tyson is someone important who I like.

Fair enough, there's literally no evidence supporting any of the allegations against Kavanaugh but it's true we can't say for certain that they aren't true all we can say is that there's no reason for anyone to believe that they are true other than some kind of bias. It's like the flat earth theory, technically people who haven't gone into space to see for themselves can't be 100% sure that flat earthers are wrong, just 99.9999999999999999999999% sure they are wrong.

You realize there is plenty of evidence of Earth being round?

In most cases there is little evidence when it happened the day before, forget 30 years ago.

I do realize that, and there's plenty of evidence that the allegations against Kavanaugh were false so the analogy works. There's literally no evidence that the Earth is anything but a spheroid and there's literally no evidence that the allegations against Kavanaugh are true.

Neil deGrasse Tyson's 'StarTalk' show pulled amid sexual misconduct allegations

National Geographic Channel has pulled its long-running Neil deGrasse Tyson chat show, "StarTalk," off the air, at least for now, following allegations of sexual misconduct against the famed astrophysicist. "StarTalk" will remain on hiatus as a Fox Networks Group investigation into the multiple claims continues.

Just to confirm, Hollywood and the entertainment industry are NOT apparently supporting the "believe all women" mantra, as demonstrated by the outcome of the investigation into Neil DeGrasse Tyson regarding these accusations:

Neil deGrasse Tyson to return to Nat Geo upon completion of assault allegation investigation

National Geographic announced Friday it completed an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Neil DeGrasse Tyson and that it is “moving forward with both ‘StarTalk’ and ‘Cosmos,' which are both hosted by the 60-year-old astrophysicist.

“The investigation is complete, and we are moving forward with both ‘StarTalk’ and ‘Cosmos,'” Nat Geo said in a statement. “‘StarTalk’ will return to the air with the remaining 13 episodes in April on National Geographic, and both Fox and National Geographic are committed to finding an air date for ‘Cosmos.’ There will be no further comment.”

National Geographic did not provide specifics about the investigation.

Glad to hear it. Now surely we can end this Stalinesque way of thinking for everyone, once and for all, right?

At least NatGeo spent a few months investigating this Totally Important Job, unlike, say, Republicans and the Supreme Court.
