Blatche is a high risk move in more ways than one .... If he pans out , he likely costs you a high lottery pick.

I'd rather take my lumps this season , have two picks in the lottery rather than winning a few more games giving you the opportunity to draft top talent for the long haul.

If you look at the history of the Rockets , the only times the team has had really poor records and playoff droughts is when the team lacked a star player. That goes all the way back to Elvin Hayes , Moses Malone , Akeem & Ralph , then Yao & McGrady.

Its time to draft the next guy who can carry a team. Im not willing to risk that positioning for Andre Blatche and a few more W's this season.

MisterMister joined in 2003, so the chances of him being at least 18 years old are very high. Most 18 year olds can think. Most 18 year olds drink. So do people older than that. He posted at 2:29pm on a Sunday.

Not sure if serious...but I guess some people really do enjoy running on the mediocrity treadmill. Sometimes you've gotta take a step back to move 10 steps forward. The Rockets are headed in the right direction. No point in going out and committing to B-Level talent (in this case C or D-level talent) when it isn't going to get you where you want to be in the long run (championship). We have a chance to develop some nice young talent (on the cheap) while also staying far enough under the salary cap to make the big moves if they so happen to become available. I just wish the Rockets could have realized this maybe a season or two ago and maybe...just maybe, we'd be a little further along in the retooling process.

And you never know what will happen during the season.

We STILL have K-Mart's expiring to match salary, + a bunch of 'pieces' to facilitate a trade.

I really wish we'd made the playoffs last season and got rid of the pick obligation to NJ though...

That would have meant giving up the pick that turned out to be Lamb ??

I'd like to get out from under that obligation too , it is very restrictive when offering up future picks. Just look at the noose Dallas put around their necks with the protection on the pick owed us via LA.

Im fine with the net result of that draft pick .... maybe they get the 2014 pick.

You're saying sign Blatche and then have a team first attitude? You obviously know nothing about the guy.

I'd rather have Yao (current version) than Blatche.

Trading all 4 of the Rockets rookies for Hasheem Thabeet and then extending him to a max contract sounds like a better deal for the Rockets than signing Blatche.

Why is this the perfect landing spot for blatche? Do we have a need for another PF? Do we have vets who can mentor Blatche and keep him on track? Do we have an established coach who can guide his development and keep his tantrums in check? LOL you obviously know nothing, the last thing we need right now is yet another PF and who happens to be a cancer who could infect the rest of the rookies.

WHy does Blatche or Machado make the team competitive? Are they difference makers who could keep us abreast of teams like Miami or OKC or LA? LOL!
