Don't you mean 1 and a half months? He only hurt his leg 7 weeks ago.

That should give Yao plenty of time to get into shape and into a groove for the postseason.

VSpan could very easily be another Nash. Remember, it took Nash several years before he became an impact player. He was nailed to the Suns bench for awhile.

Okay after reading this thread I bought some nice tickets to Rockets @ Celtics on 3/7... got my fingers crossed that he makes it back by then.

isnt it more like 8 weeks (a bit over)?

but whatever. im excited to see this team at full strength. I am not too worried about conditioning with yao. 1) it was never great 2) 30-35 minutes is all the rox need 3) deke 4) yao isnt bonzi...he will be ready.

im more worried about him rushing back too soon in general. but i just tend to err on the side of caution, especially with a 7'6 guy

When Yao made his quote about coming back, it was between 7 and 8 weeks. Actually closer to 8 now that I do the math...and going by today, it's just barely over 8. Definitely not 2 1/2 months though, which would be 10 weeks.

yup. i always thought 10 weeks a was a good, minimum, bet for his return. but again, i dont think there needs to be any significant rush. personally i'm fine with mid marchish (at home vs orlando maybe). That will give yao a good 20 games to work get back to peak basketball fitness
