That entire area (say southern border is Clay, eastern is Eldridge, northern is Tarkenton, and western is Fry) is the next Alief, if it isn't already. It's Alief without the location benefits that Alief has. Giant wasteland of KB Homes and other low quality builders, with a sheriff and constable precincts that are stretched thin.

The area is called Copperfield, and I agree it's ghetto as ****. My wife works in the area (I live on the opposite side of i10 in between that area and Alief) and I can't stand having to drive over there. It just sucks. NEVER go to that Studio Movie Grill.

 

Copperfield is far from "ghetto."

 

Copperfield doesnt seem too bad. It's an island of nice (like Lakes on Eldridge/Twin Lakes) in a sea of crap.

 

I live on Jones and West, about 10 minutes from Copperfield. Believe me, that area is far from ghetto. Now if you want to say Alief off Hwy 6 and Bellaire is ghetto, I would definitely agree. I was pretty much raised in that area and that's about as ghetto as you get.

 

Come upa and watch a game at one of the local sports bars in the CYP show yall how damn ghetto it is.

We got suburban homes, gated neighborhoods, wal marts and HEBS. As a matter of fact, last year a good number of kids graduated from the local high schools! Ya smell me?

 

Yeah, I grew up in Copperfield. There is zero chance it is ghetto.

BTW-- the shooting was no where near Copperfield.

Also, I agree with the posters that say Copperfield is far from ghetto. Anything south of 529 is OK at best. At worst, though, it's akin to traveling down 1960 heading towards I-45.

 

Southeast Houston is safer.

 

Yea. Fry road is way the **** west. I grew up on 6 near Yorkshire. The only change I've noticed is that more people of color live there than they did 15 years ago. Nothing else has changed.
