Or they could have just taken Jimmer at #7 while keeping their solid point guard in Beno and not having to take back Salmons' nasty contract.
Isn't that a good omen considering Jordan has Dasagana Diop AND Kwame Brown on the same team? Surely a team of Diop, Brown, AND Biyombo will cause the whole city of Charlotte to implode due to their bust factors
In all honesty I think the Kings are taking the "safe" approach in drafting Jimmer at 10 opposed to #7 so they won't get as much backlash in a few years when people look back and said "Jimmer was a total bust. How the hell did they not see it coming? The kid can't shoot if his backcourt mate is the black hole and won't pass him the ball. Good thing they traded down 3 spots to get him instead of drafting him at #7!"

This deal is a bad break for Morey. Cho made a deal that it is very likely Morey was trying to accomplish. I would guess the problem for Morey was probably the Maggette contract, which is the pill that Charlotte is being asked to swallow to get the 7 pick. It's not such a bad deal for Charlotte because Jackson no longer has value to them, and his salary matches up with Maggette (2 more years). Bucks get a slight player upgrade in Jackson/Udrih for Maggette/Salmons. The problem for us is that we don't have a salary that matches up with Maggette except for Scola, who is worth more. If we were fighting for this, it probably would have been a deal of Scola for Salmons or Maggette + the 10 pick. That's not a great deal for us. It also interferes with our cap room since both Salmons and Maggette have multi-year contracts. If the deal were Scola for an expiring + the 10 pick, I think Morey could have gotten it to work.
If the Kings are scared of a couple of whiny reporters and Internet blogs, then they deserve no sympathy for making this idiotic trade. I mean, didn't they pretty much make Tyreke a SG and Beno was their only PG? Who they liked? I mean..... this is a completely "wtf are you doing" deal.

Yea, this closed a lot of doors, but I have felt that the Pistons at #8 for #14 & #23 has had the most traction to this point. that remains very possible.
You are right, there isn't a match for Houston to take on CHA's role in this 3 way deal. Bucks want some kind of big-name impact players and the most that the Rockets are offering, it seems, is Courtney Lee, a good reserve wing/role player. I'm guessing the Rockets are not offering one of Martin, Scola, Patterson or Lowry-- i.e. one of the guys that other teams really value-- to make a move up.
