Am I just so old and out of touch as to not understand why anyone would 'steal' a twitter account, or do a make-believe twitter, to run announcements like this? It just doesn't compute to me.

The thing, DD, is nobody expects him to be good as a 1 on 1 defender. Its his help defense that needs to be addressed.
As I said he is not the brightest player on the court but yeah perhaps you should buy him a book on passing and good decision-making.

Sorry again. IMO there are no things such as big mistakes. Missing out on Rashard Lewis was not even a biggie. Nowadays Houston is a respected place where other free agents loved to come.

Mike James was just a cheap shot who played best after he was dumped and never was the same
Morey gave Francis an opportunity to be back and could have worked out.
    Barry ditto
Having Von or not we are heading towards a new direction. We could have Joe Johnson or Wade by next year, albeit a farfetched example.

That's true but Von was not proven either when we decided to keep him, was he?

DMorey is not a guy who usually commits mistakes.
Every move he made was low risk and by low risk I mean it could have worked out. We risked little to nothing in the worst case scenario.

Von was a low risk high reward player as well but by saying not signing him would be a very big mistake I guess you lean yourself way out of the window. You sound like we were not resigning Lebron. Reality check. He is a scrub who played well part of the season and an ok playoffs.

Why are people saying Von is proven? What has Von done to show that he is a proven player in this league from hear on out? He's young, he kind of reminds me of a young J.R. Smith without the off the court issues and still has somewhat of that ballhog mentality on the court...

Von had a great year last year.... but to say he's proven just because he played half a year and then a couple of playoff series' (where he wasn't really the 1st option 2nd option or 3rd option even after Yao went out...) is just silly... One year doesn't mean squat... we'll see what he brings to the table this upcoming season before I believe that he's a proven player in this league. I will agree though, that he is above Taylor and Budinger... of course... he has played in the NBA, he finally had a successful season, Budinger and Taylor haven't yet played in one NBA game.... so that settles that.

Do people realize that we only have 2 players on the roster (besides Yao and Tmac) who averaged more points than Wafer last season?

    Scola - 12.7
    Brooks - 11.2
    Wafer - 9.7

Teams don't just let their 3rd highest scorers walk, ESPECIALLY when they just turned 24, are barely asking for more than the minimum, and the team isn't planning on spending that money elsewhere. For comparison, here's a list of the top 5 2008/2009 scorers for every other NBA team. How many of these teams would rather let one of these players walk than pay him 2-2.5 million a year, or whatever it is we're refusing to pay Wafer?

I'm sort of with you on the mistake part. Morey isn't perfect and is capable of making mistakes just like the next guy. I hope if losing Von does turn out to be a mistake that we've got a backup plan. Time will tell :)

This makes no sense. Are you suggesting it's good managment to let proven guys goes go and replace them with unproven guys?

Right, because he didn't just have by far the best season of his career. He had the exact same kind of season he had when he played for those other teams, and there's no evidence to indicate he's improved since then.

I guess your logic makes sense if you've just awaken from a 12 month long coma...

Pretty sure David Andersen could score 9-10 points depending on PT
    Ariza 10-13 points
    Landry:8-10 points
Budinger: 5-10 points very efficient shooting
Taylor: 8-12 if he gets a chance
Battier: 7-11 points will step up his game
    Lowry:9-11 points ditto
    Brooks:15-20
    Scola:15-19
    with McGrady coming back

There aren't many sign and trade deals for small contracts. I'm assuming he's getting less than the MLE.

More atheltic than Tracy McGrady? Hell even Kirk Snyder for that matter.

Get a clue. There's a reason why he's searching around for scraps from the Clippers.

Not sad to see him go.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him crash and burn, but I think he'll be solid elsewhere, for a little while.

I feel like this is a new, refreshing topic with a reasonably credible source to begin the thread.

Wait, no I don't. Why does this have 3 stars?
