except Adelman never had, as a starter, a shot blocker, nor an agressive rebounder with Divac, Sabonis, Webber or Miller...

I doubt the Rockets would do that (either its a made up rumor, or something proposed by another team). That said, Thomas and Fesenko are both nice, young players. It would certainly resolve our size problem in the front-court, for those that are concerned about that.

I was refering more to the "prefers to operate from the perimeter offensively" part. And who said he will be a starter. :p

If Utah gave us the Knicks unprotected pick this would be a no brainer, that would really set us up for a quick turnaround to contender in 2010-2011. It might also be used in season to get Bosh.

Utah should go ahead and add the Knicks 2010 unprotected first round pick if they want this trade...

The only way I would want to do this deal is if we got picks.

Specifically the Knicks pick that Utah owns.

Because Tyrus isn't a significant upgrade from Landry and he's far and away the best player we'd be getting back.

I will tell you what might be in play here, that the league is still not as high on Shane as Morey is. Personally, unless the Rockets get a first round pick, I think this trade is a mistake, though it does clear space for 2010.

Honestly folks, if this trade happens and you still don't think we're in full rebuild mode, I don't think anything short of Morey admitting it will convince you.

When they involve a fourth team (Portland) that can absorb some of the excess salary that Utah doesn't want, then the trade idea becomes more credible.

Of course the deal will be restructured some.

Can someone explain the Knicks pick Utah owns? What did they trade for it?

I would agree to it,we need that pick for sure. I didn't realize that we would have our own 1st round pick too. I just don't like Tyrus.

They got the pick in the Stephon Marbury trade several years ago.

The only reason I could see this trade going down would be to clear cap room for 2010, so if we'd get the Knicks' pick and Chris Bosh, it would turn out ok.

I could see us getting the expiring Matt Harpring contract to make the salaries work, but we should at least get Utah's first rounder out of this as well.

Not that I necessarily think this is legit, but just to make it semi-realistic.

Our roster is unbalanced, this would balance it out some.

    Interesting proposal...

Correction--The Suns got the pick in the Marbury trade, and then traded it along with Tom Gugliotta for Keon Clark and Ben Handlogten.

Tyrus Thomas puts up only one point and rebound more than Carl Landry and it takes him more minutes to do it. Plus he costs more and both he and Fesenko are under only 1 year contracts. Unless the Rockets believe they are players for a big name FA, I would think they want players who will be under contract for longer.
