Carlos Boozer has reportedly agreed to a trade. And has made comments about playing in Miami.

Obviously a better trade however will the Blazers help Utah. This trade basically helps Utah keep Millsap.

Utah has already matched Portlands offer so I don't see how they'd be helping

    we should not trade Battier
coz battier will be one of the suitable people in the team that whom can be a leader of the team next season......his presence is essential to the team

what about sending James White, Joey Dorsey and Carl Landry, Brian Cook
and the draftpick of J. Taylor?

I am sure other teams will be interested in getting Joey Dorsey.

If this thread has truly broken down into a random trade proposal thread, then here is my version of a Chicago-Utah-Houston three-way deal that might actually work for everyone:

Chicago gets: Carlos Boozer, James White
Utah gets: Shane Battier, Linton Johnson, small ($798k) trade exception
Houston gets: Kirk Hinrich, Kyrylo Fesenko (using trade exception)

Why Chicago does this: They get Boozer and still minimize the increase in payroll.

Why Utah does this: They dump a TON of salary ($13.5M) and only take back under $8M (plus a small trade exception). Heck, the league is picking up about half of Linton Johnson's salary, and only half of Linton's salary counts against the luxury tax. So, lots of savings there. Oh, yeah. And Battier is their new starting SF.

Why Houston does this: They fill their starting SG spot (Hinrich) and starting/backup C spot (Fesenko). Sure, Hinrich is a PG, but he's a perfect pairing with Brooks in the backcourt. Hinrich is capable of guarding SGs and can play PG on offense, allowing Brooks to play the SG on offense. Also, Kirk's salary goes down next year, so the Rockets' cap room will not be depleted too much.

I think you are stretching it when you say a 6'3 190 pound player with limited hops/quickness can guard most NBA shooting guards. offensively it works, but it would be a defensive nightmare.

WHy Houston doesnt do this: Batman for Kirk freaking Hinrich? I doubt any GM in the league would do that.

    Bold part is funny.

What's so funny about the bold part? Hinrich has guarded Dwade in the past and gave him fits. Bima said "capable of guarding SG's" not to be mistaken with using Hinrich as a defensive prowess at the 2 spot.

I see no problem with him being able to handle smaller 2's like Ray Allen, Nate Robinson, J Terry, Gordon, Barbosa and he can hang with bigger guards in spurts with his feistyness.

I'll agree that we could probably get more than Hinrich for Battier and Fesenko would be a nice project worth taking on but seeing Battier in Jazz colors would be sickening.

I am for trading Battier only when we can get Kirk Hinrich. Tyrus Thomas? Hell no. We just don't throw league's best lock defender for another S.Swift.

As noted by others, he already does this, because when he's on the floor he is often playing with either Rose or Gordon, and had to defend the bigger guard.

Don't you think his defense (or lack thereof) contributed to how awful they were on the court? They were the same team who got the number 1 pick, and they only made the playoffs because Rose played out of his mind.

As others have already noted Heinrich is only 6'3. How can he shut down guys who are 2-5 inches taller than he is? More importantly what does Heinrich do for this team that our guys can't? He's not that good a playmaker, and his shot is average to borderline awful.
