Agreed thomas is a blocking machine and is better defensively than landry. We will lose some offense but the way budinger looks we should be able to find more some where else. Looks like we are trying to finally catch up with every one else and get bigger. I would hate to lose shane and landry but these two big men would still keep up elite defensively. Bring it on morey knows what he is doing if he pulls the trigger.

Young fast and big, thats the type of team i like. Brooks would look good running with ariza, scola, thomas, and Andersen.

This is like your 3rd post telling us that. I'm sure we'll be alright if it happens or not.

I really hate to bang on about it, but I really think Twitter is alot more trouble than its worth, especially as it relates to NBA RUMORS.

Pretty much everyone is aware it is a rumor, but this is a messageboard and people want to give their opinions and thoughts on a rumored trade.

It's the offseason, the only thing to discuss are rumors and possibilities.

I meant enough rumors. Nothing has happened, just rumors flying around. From Morey's trading history. When we hear the trading news, it is already done. No rumors beforehand at all. So rumors are rumors

Is it me, or does it seem that people get more excited in the off-season over rumored trades than actual victories in the regular season?

I'd like to think that Battier and Landry could fetch a lot more than Tyrus Thomas and this guy from Utah.

exactly. Morey isn't Chris Wallace. No way we end up losing value on a deal.

I'm with you. Battier and Landry should get more than that. I checked the Jazz fans comments about the trade and they love it. They all would love to have Battier and Landry and feel that we are getting shafted. After reading their comments and alot of ours I feel their fans want our players more than most of us do.<p>I also checked the Bulls fans and most of them are just happy to get rid of Tyrus. As the saying goes "One man's trash is another man's treasure", but I still think we are getting screwed if the deal was true.

I like this deal. We cut salary, and add a very good young player....

    Count me in....

    Aaron Brooks
    Von Wafer
    Trevor Ariza
    Tyrus Thomas
    Luis Scola

I'm not saying that your wrong because rumors like this come and go with nothing happening all the time, but why are you so certain that this potential trade won't happen?

You might have already mentioned why, but this thread is long and I didn't see anything.

How about we get Portland to join the trade and make it a 4 team trade.

Houston Trades: Shane Battier, Carl Landry and Brian Cook
Houston Receives: Rudy Fernandez, Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James and Kyrylo Fesenko

Chicago Trades: Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James and John Salmons
Chicago Receives: Carlos Boozer and Kyle Korver

    Portland Trades: Rudy Fernandez
    Portland Receives: Shane Battier

Utah Trades: Carlos Boozer, Kyrylo Fesenko, Carlos Boozer and Kyle Korver
Utah Receives: Carl Landry, Brian Cook and John Salmons

Houston gets a good scorer in Rudy, good PF in Ty to replace Landry, a young center in Fesenko and a big expiring contract in James. In fact, all the contracts are expiring

Chicago gets a top PF in Boozer and a good shooter in Korver

Portland gets rid of a mad Fernandez and picks up a top defender in Battier who is perfect for their team since they need veteran leadership and someone to mentor Batum

Utah gets a young PF in Landry to replace Boozer and will be perfect to back up Millsap, a big expiring contract in Cook and a good scorer in Salmons.

How many times do teams end up having cap space, and then get burned in the FA market. see the pistons and gordon/charlie v, or the blazers right now. Plus, what has Memphis done with their cap space from the gasol deal. Trade for Zach Randolph? Color me not impressed.

Plus, not everyone who has cap space in 2010 will get bosh, amare, johnson, etc. Especially considering the NBA makes it easier for teams to retain their own free agents. In my opinion, relying on cap space as your saving grace is a mistake.
