If you keep Landry and do the trade above you'd have 39 million off the books. Is 42 million>39 million + Landry? I don't think so.

I don't even know how you managed to come up with that amount. Yao contract = 20 mill. T-mac's contract = 20 mill. Add your supposed 19 million in expirings and we have a total of 59 million. Isn't that lux tax already? What happened to Ariza, Brooks, Hayes, Scola and the rest of the players' contracts? They won't magically disappear you'd have to pay them on top of your supposed 19 million.

Why trade away core players and rebuild with unknowns? Compete now.

Add fillers/picks where possible but money works as is...Could add one or two of Budinger, White, Taylor, or Dorsey to consolidate talent...

    Houston out:
    McGrady
    Cook
    Houston in:
    B. Miller
    Kirilenko

C - Miller, Andersen, Dorsey, (Yao)
    PF - Scola, Landry, Hayes
    SF - Kirilenko, Battier, (Budinger/White/Taylor)
    SG - Ariza, Wafer?, (Budinger/White/Taylor)
    PG - Brooks, Lowry, Barry

Vet center with expiring contract and AK's contract is expiring next year...

    Chicago out:
    B. Miller
    Chicago in:
    Boozer

    Upgrade talent

    Utah out:
    Boozer
    Kirlenko
    Utah in:
    McGrady
    Cook

    Save money

This board seriously overrates our players.

I love Shane as a person, but he had a terrible past season. He's not getting any better. He will only get worse. He's gotten worse every year he's been here. The "intangibles" aspect is overrated. Trade him while his value his high.

Landry is already 26. He is a hustle player, and will always be a hustle player. He has no post moves to speak of. He plays poor defense. Players like Landry are a dime a dozen. He's a career backup/spark off the bench. Any team that starts Landry ain't a championship contender.

Tyrus Thomas is only 22, and has a ton more potential than Landry, plus he puts up similar, if not better, numbers.

Fesenko is also only 22. He's huge, and plays super hard, and will be a valuable back up for Yao for years to come.

Reality check. Brad Miller aint getting us out the 1st round.

    And when Yao comes back?

    That's one high priced backup.

    No thanks

Guys, this trade is not happening. Stop talking about it... It will not happen... How else do I need to spell it out?

While Miller and AK47 would make us a better team for next season, it doesn't make us much better. AK47 is another guy who can't get his own shot along with Miller.

I'd rather get Tyrus and another Lottery pick. They are unknowns, but if they both end up in the top 10, they are extremely valuable assets. I'm assuming we don't make the playoffs of course...

But i'd rather draft John Wall or the next big thing, than be mediocre for one season. AT THE SAME TIME...I don't want the team to just give up in the season and tank...I just think this teams lineup is only good enough for lottoland.

The deal doesn't go down with Shane alone, you have to give something else if you're keeping Landry.

    Yep, especially Landry.

He's not the young and I see him the same way you do. A career backup bench player. That's not insulting the guy at all, Championship teams NEED that. Just saying it how I see it for him.

You have take into account TMAC will not come back and 23 million come off the books....The numbers I provided where after this season not during the season...honestly not a cap expert so its rough numbers just with the contracts we would be getting back and TMAC's expiring deal.

So how many fewer 0 point nights do you think you will get from Tyrus Thomas and Fesenko?

Shane plays major minutes and puts up duds. Trading him frees up minutes for Ariza and whoever else to do their thing.

    Shane 7.3ppg Carl 9.2ppg = 16.5

    Thomas 10.8ppg Fesenko 2.3ppg = 13.1

Points arent the issue and remember the ladder would get more playing time with us so those numbers would have gone up. Shane and Carl's mpg would stay the same.

I did take it into account. You said a total of 42 million in expiring contracts, and that includes Tmac's contract. I'm not blaming you for being not being a cap expert because I'm clueless regarding that but you only need to do the math to see how much BS this trade rumor is. 42 million in expiring contracts doesn't make sense because Yao Ming's contract is worth 20++ million. Why would we have 62 million in contracts when the salary cap is less than 60 million? That's not even factoring the 5 million contract we signed Ariza.

I see what you mean my fault...its 11 million that would have come off along with TMAC's 23 million equaling 34 million.

    My apologizes!
