Not if it involves the Rockets taking back Jerome James, which is what the follow-up tweet seems to indicate (i.e., Les talking buyout). The 3-way deal works with EITHER the Jazz or the Rockets taking back James. Obviously, neither team wants the extra salary. In fact, I don't know why Utah would even do this trade if they're taking back James. They actually take on MORE salary. They'd have to REALLY like Battier and Landry.

Regardless, nice to know that this is all BS anyway.

Are you kidding? I would do this in a heartbeat. There's a reason Tyrus Thomas was drafted so high after his Freshman year at LSU. After 3 years in the league and at 22 yrs. old, he is ready for a hugh breakout. Check his steady improvement over the three years. Even in FT % he is now at almost 80%. He blocked almost 2 shots a game and his steals were way up last year.

Paired with Ariza, Brooks and maybe Von Wafer...I say WATCH OUT!!! That team could run your a$$ out of the gym.

I was not bashing Carl...just pointing it out that he has missed time each season

As for Shane - I like his D, but if you cannot score more than 70 ppg, you will likely be a lottery team no matter how much D you play

Thats what i thought a long time ago. I'm sure BimaThug who is great with the cap and stuff could clear it up. The deal is, i thought it wouldve been nice to offer fasenko maybe 2m as a restricted free agent. He's big, agile for his size and very, very young. Whether Yao is coming anytime soon or not. Thomas is a shot blocking 4 who is getting better. If anyone watched him frm the beginning of his 2nd yr till now, he's made leaps and bounds. His jumper has gotten alot better and he challenges alot of shots. From Utah's perspective, getting shane as a bench player would allow them to maybe move Harpring and Korver or at least 1 for a 2nd rd pick in a salary dump. Harpring makes 6m and korver makes 5 and both are in the last year of their deal. If they get battier, one will go and shane can swing between both spots along with ak-47. The jazz still would have Koufus to backup memo and they could go small and have ak-47 backup milsap.Chicago would finally get a legit low post option that they have missed sice curry trade his final year. All in all, shane has no place on rebuilding, running team. Another year will only continue to show his decline and next year you might not be able to even get this package. Then maybe the Rockets can get rid of Cook and Barry for 2nd rd picks or 0 and resign Von and let Taylor and White duke it out for a roster spot.

InsideHoops Twitter is reporting the Jazz are setting up a 'big' press conference for later this afternoon. They're looking if it's Boozer to the Heat related. Maybe this deal?

    Hmmmmm

I'm guessing it's just to announce that Paul Millsap has now been locked up to a long-term deal and about how glad the organization is to have him as part of its foundation.

he changed his mind. He is saying now that it doesn't appear to be true. Haven't heard anything about a trade.

Agree. Looks like big time B.S to me. Its a lopsided trade to say the least.

This is not good enough to move battier and landry. Tyrus Thomas is worth gambling on, but not at this price. Thank goodness it's not being seriously discussed.

I don't know why all of you are still talking about this trade as a possible deal with Nuno came on here and said that this trade wasn't being discussed...

I think this thread should be locked...

Hmm... I think I'd rather just have Boozer and cut Chicago out of it. Battier and Landry seems like a lot to give up for Thomas and Fesenko.

Agreed. Though if we were to get a first rounder too (the New York one), I'd be very intrigued.

I think the point is to get under the cap ASAP. 2010 isn't necessarily special, it's just the soonest we can get under.

As for trading Tracy instead of Battier and Landry, Tracy is already an expiring contract. We don't need to move him if the goal is to get cap space ASAP.

Also, I don't know that DM wants one expensive player to put with Yao; he wants value, and that might be gotten by two lesser-priced players.

Landry has a team option for $3 million which is more valuable.

Big Fes was pretty good in that game Artest took over. Thomas has potential, be to be what?

I don't like giving up Landry and Battier, I think someone should be handing us a pick or money.
