What do you expect Bosh to say. Toronto is writing his checks. Houston is closer to his home in Dallas and has the money to spend. Maybe it is wishful thinking but if this deal goes down, then obviously the plan is go for a free-agent or two.

Either way, the class is more than just Bosh/Wade/Bron

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=freeagents-09-10

Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, John Salmons, Amare, Dirk, Boozer. And a HUGE list of good restricted FAs (possibly Roy, Alderidge, Rondo, Gay, Brewer)

Agreed. The Rockets should not gamble too much for/in the 2010 free agency. It is not a lock that the star players would leave their respective teams. The team might end up with what is left. A player that is not really a player you can build around.

I don't think they Jazz are trading Kosta as they drafted him in the 1st round.

IMO he has made a decision.

Why sign Ariza you ask? What happened the last time we surrounded 2 superstars with garbage, I ask you. Absolutely nothing that's what. We got knocked out of the 1st round and had to rebuild our core out of scraps.

He is simply building his core to put around our "stars" coming in. We can't do it with a whole bunch of Luther Head's, David Wesley's, and Juwan Howard's running around out there, as you can see.

Morey is on the right track all we need is super star players to surround with our core unit. :D

As we have seen over the years, FA's love Houston. 2010 is the biggest FA class ever. We have a good a shot as any

you're right. we got stars before and tried to build around them. FAILED

now we're getting that role player core down to attract the stars :)

If the deal calls for the Rockets to be getting back expiring contracts, why not trade TMac instead of Shane?

TMac is a $23M expiring contract. Nobody can match that.

I made some changes to the deal... this is WAY better

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mmvtls
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Houston trades: Shane Battier, Carl Landry, Brent Barry
Houston receives: Ronnie Brewer, Fesenko, Tyrus Thomas

Utah trades: Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, Fesenko
Utah receives: Shane Battier, Carl Landry, Brent Barry, Jerome James

Chicago trades: Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James
    Chicago receives: Carlos Boozer
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Brooks/Lowry
    Brewer/Taylor/White
    Ariza/Budinger
    Scola/Thomas/Hayes
    Andersen/Fesenko/Dorsey

    Inactive: Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady

Brewer is a superb defender and also is expiring but will be a restricted free agent next year.

All the best for the team but it is not a lock. The team has to be attractive enough in the sense that it is a competitive team better yet a championship caliber team in order for the big names to consider the Rockets. The only probable drawing point is Yao. Irony of it is that They really do not know when He will be back.

Egg, do you really think Utah would trade Brewer? He is young and has been a solid starter.

That would be better since we can decide whether to keep Brewer and Thomas or dump em for cap room.

I still can't believe we would even be rumored to be involved in a trade with the j*zz, twitter or not.

Sine they are desperate to trade Boozer.. I think they would trade anyone except Deron Williams and Paul Millsap.

True, but money talks. And Houston is a great city.

Trevor knew Yao was out, couldve teamed up with Lebron, but chose Houston. Sure, he's guaranteed minutes and will be a focal point of the offense, but he's a Rocket, not a Cav.

The point is, money talks the loudest. All these teams gearing up for 2010, they're not exactly powerhouses themselves. A lot of these teams, the slate will be clean. NY for example. At least the Rockets will have Yao, Ariza and an improved Brooks, etc

Wrong. They're not desperate to trade Boozer until the trade deadline. They want to unload him, but they're not gonna give up Brewer to do it.

    Battier <-> Hinrich
    Battier <-> Rudy F, Pryzbilla

if not, don't ever underestimate the heart of Morey

Indeed money talks. However, If the team can pry a star via a trade ( Tmac ) now then They should take advantage of teams that would want to clear space for next year's bonanza. Getting pieces now might be wiser then waiting for next year. Of course, this is with the premise that teams would take Tmac's expiring contract which would be very attractive for teams like NY who aspire to get two big names next year.

I get your point but as you pointed out NY and what other teams would be willing to give up players for T? PLAYERS not stars...

They will only be providing scrubs unless you see any real stars in the teams you have in mind.

This looks good but does work in a trade situation.
