I heard the entire sequence as it happened.

It wasnt really anything bad. People are over-reacting.

You have to take two things into consideration.

    1) Its Clyde Drexler. We are used to him saying stuff that doesn't sync with what Bill asks him. Bill asked him how something like this effects the players. The right response would have been something along the line that they are humans and I am sure it will be in the back of their minds but they still have a job to do on the floor. Instead he goes onto say how it was a momentum killer for the Bobcats and how it works in Rockets favor. That was an awkward response but fits very well with the rest of the stuff that Drexler says.

    2) If you hear the later part when Bill and Clyde are laughing about waking up in the hospital wondering where you are, without listening to the story Clyde told initially about himself, then it is going to look very bad. I think this is what most people are doing. They need to listen to the entire sequence.

    Meh...Just a bunch of people over-reacting.

You sure are a sensitive lot. I couldnt give less of a **** as to whether mkg had an injury or not. Nor would any bobcat fan care if one of you broke their spines.

Yeah, I don't think they said anything wrong. They already said that MKG was not moving, and that the medical personnel was there. It was Clyde actually who first showed some concern with the seriousness of the injury. "Hey, he's not moving."

What else do you want them to say?

I like their style--very folksy, just like some conversation you would have with some uncles or older relatives.

Clyde is dumb and boring. Sometimes he gets a laugh, but just because what he said was so dumb. Bring back Calvin it's been long enough, and he's just way better than Clyde or Bullard.

i dont have comcast i listen on the radio so i have a good sense of how serious the injury was. I have never liked clyde to the point of feeling dirty about the second championship. This is a perfect example of why. Someone needs to photoshop him as ron burgandy.

I also lovem a lot!... dont know exactly why... one of the reasons they are always cheerful and jokin no matter what...to me there is no use in being solemn sad pessimistic and disappointed ever...
if we all sit and cry that wouldnt be of much help to MKG....on contrary....

hundreds of thousands people are being ill, being killed and died today all over the world... should we all go through the day solemn in order to give em respect?
    bull****!
they also provide a lot of expertise and food for thought at least for my level of understanding of basketball

Even having to point out the fact that Drexler was jesting at his own experience as offensive is quite a reach at the situation.

There was nothing but concern whenever they referred to MKG. If anything, Clyde was trying to relate with a similar instance early into his career.

Much ado about nothing with the mob mentality press trying to to get hits off of their respective pages.

Imagine if it was someone on our team. I can see where the complaints are coming from.

By that I mean we know our team's players, like them, and would feel bad if an injury like that happened to one of them. Not that them being on our team is what matters. Bobcat fans were probably emotionally invested already from the big comeback they were making, then all of a sudden they were holding their breath, and it was annoying to hear the opposing team's announcer speaking so jovially and talking about how the injury helps them strategically. It's not like the fans wrote essays talking about how bad it was, they posted a <140 character message on Twitter. Not in anyway an overreaction in my opinion.

Best of luck to MKG, saw his rookie videos and thought he was cool.

"momentum shift" comment by Clyde was tasteless, but yea overall twitter comments were y9ur typical sanctimonious holier-than-thou comments, esp. from the blogers. that said, not a fan of clyde in general.

I hate it when people say announcers are "homer". No $hit Sherlock. Most, if not all, of the announcers in the NBA are for the team they get paid to talk about. Go ****ing figure.

The injury probably deserved a bit more seriousness, sensitivity, and tact from our broadcast booth, but people are definitely overreacting.
