I don't really care if he puts on weight so long as he doesn't look gassed at every timeout like he did this year.
Why would you want to trade our future all star PF? Everybody complained last year that he needed to gain muscle because he wasn't strong enough in the post. Now he has already started doing good on gaining muscle and some people are still complaining. Hopefully he will hit the steroids hard this summer so he will be ready to go when the season starts.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/iamawnya118">@iamawnya118</a> I was at 260 pounds today</p>— Donatas Motiejunas (@DonatasMot) <a href="https://twitter.com/DonatasMot/statuses/353810360148574210">July 7, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
His upper body doesn't look like he added 20lbs of muscle. He doesn't look fat. So that's good news because it would mean he added muscle in a balanced way (lowed body/core/upper body) which is what he really needs. A lot of times players muscle up by focusing on their upper body, and that's not always the solution. Occassionally that can cause injury problems as well.
Theres no way its all muscle if he's not juicing. Wouldn't be surprised if be season start he was around 250-255.
now he gets to practice with dwight and asik. he is bound to improve his post moves, if he is not shooting fadeaway threes that is.
Just take a peek at his twitter pics and what he's eating. I'd say his body fat % might have increased as well. ;-)
you can gain about a lb a week if you hit it really hard. So yes it's possible in less than a year to gain 40 lbs of muscle.
Motiejunas is going to be great for the Rockets going forward, if you've watched him play in the D league, he thrives when he can play PF and has another big out there to work with. I expect him and Howard to get along just great. If Howard could learn post moves from Motiejunas, and Motiejunas could learn defense from Howard they'd be the best in the league.
