First, let me be clear i'm not here to defend all of Eddie Griffin's actions. He's got a god given talent few people in the world recieve and for awhile he pissed it away. My sig should tell you i'm not exactly the biggest EG fan after what we gave up for him.

But at 23 years old, nobody is out of potential. I don't think griffin drove them to the lottery either. He was brought in to help them. If anything Spreewell's hungry kids, an underpreforming cast, and KG never making anybody around him better had alot to do with that scenerio.

The EG "fiasco" will hopefully end when we get a PF that can at least play as good on the defensive end as he did.

We all know how the NBA is full of other role models who carry guns, drugs on airplanes, drive drunk, and attack fans. The same kind of people we're even trying to acquire.

Sometimes companies give employees a leave of absence when they're having personal problems. Or even put them in sponsored drug/alcohol clinics, as well as get them therapy.

Maybe that's something we should have done. Maybe it would have helped keep him out of the news or at least let the people forget, as we all know the NBA is a very forgiving sport.

If he needed a year off it still would have been worth it. Even a 2nd round pick is better than nothing.

As stated above we don't know all the details, but i will "assume" JVG's tough love style didn't work for the guy.
