C - defense PF - defense SF - offense SG - offense PG - defense We will always spot teams major points with that line up. As much as I wanted Coach to try it and as much as I wanted it to work, I've seen enough to vote an end to the experiment.
what about when we go 29-4 to start the 3rd? 50% of our wins so far were won because of TT. To blame TT for the lakers or clips loss is flat STUPID and not looking at reality. TT wasn't responsible for the 4th quarter against lakers (because TT didnt play) we can point to lots of things none of them TT TT wasn't the reason that harden looked like dog doo against clips or that foul trouble from opening seconds. TT isnt the reason that our perimeter defense looks bad. TT creates two wins and everyone is going nuts doesnt even acknowledge it. TT doesnt even play in 4th against lakers and lets blame TT. So much for giving it 20 games. Not just TT but this team is still coming together in general. Some teams take all year and some never get there. To go on big 3rd quarter runs and create 2 wins in 6 games is nothing to sneeze at and surely a sign of something except for this bbs. SMH once we got drexler it took drexler and olajuwon at least 20 games to show anything. If it were now folks would be saying that we should bench drexler or trade olajuwon. If you think TT is the reason we lost anything so far you need to really check yourself.
passing lane cloggers. bet Asik rather finish games than start. trade him before he sulks and regress that nobody wants him.
They are trying to showcase Asik for a trade later in the season. They have to play him in order to get good value. It is obviously easy to feel impatient as we are watching this play out, but the chances are good that it will all work out well in the end. However, truth be told, that will probably not manifest itself until next season at the earliest.
They don't have to start him to showcase his value. They still can play him 20+ minute a game off the bench to do that.
I'm actually okay with the starting lineup. A more pressing concern for me, imo, is not on the offensive side of the court but on the defensive side. Our perimeter defense has been horrendous and I fail to see how thats the front court's fault. Harden really needs to be held accountable for his lack of effort on defense and Parsons needs to go back to the guy he was during his first year. Bev defended horribly last night but I tihnk thats just an anomaly, hopefully he can pick it up soon as we're going against cp3 again.
Split it up between big-lineup teams like Spurs and Grizzlies and have Asik come off the bench for smaller lineups.
Simply put its not going to work because none of them can shoot. We need a big guy who can at least shoot decently for this TT idea to work. I would seperate the two and let JLin play more with Howard and Asik play with Harden since he's all iso.
Calm down. I never said the Asik/Dwight combo was responsible for this loss or the Clippers loss. (I fell asleep at halftime last night, so I wouldn't know one way or the other.) I said it doesn't work, and by that I mean it won't work in the long run. Two guys who can't score on anything but dunks, layups, or the occasional hook shot, cannot play together for very long. Not only are we playing 4 v 5 on offense, but our 4 are weaker than they otherwise would be: Harden, Lin and Parsons will have a tougher time penetrating. So they have to settle for outside shots where they might otherwise try to drive to the basket or drive and dish. Limiting the options of our playmakers will make our offense worse. On defense, it helps. So the question just becomes: does the increase in defense offset the decline in offense? I don't think it does. Nothing I have seen so far has led me to think otherwise. And getting blown out to start each game isn't going to make me think any better of starting Asik/Dwight together. I love Asik, but I don't think he's the right fit for this team at this time.
TT is the reason why we always start off so slow. Defensively, we're not even that much better with TT in the lineup, theyre probably worse. Plus, we dont even run, they just tend to walk the ball up court. Mchale needs to stop *****ing around with the lineup. He knew it was never going to work. I give him credit for at least trying but I'm tired of seeing this team not playing up to its potential.
Did you watch the 2nd half of the MIA/LAC game? The key to good perimeter defense is switching and rotating quickly to help when picks are set. If both your 4 and 5 aren't very mobile you end up giving up a lot of open shots.
